With a total capacity of 132,000,[12] it is the world's largest cricket stadium and the largest overall stadium in the world by capacity,[13][14][15] It is owned by the Gujarat Cricket Association, and hosts both domestic and international cricket matches.[1][16][17] The stadium has hosted several high-profile matches, such as the 2023 One Day International World Cup final.[18] The stadium will be used for the 2030 Commonwealth Games. It is named after the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
