SM should have never killed Giselle's ABG vibe?

We all know SM doesn't give much freedom to their girl groups and prefer the innocent type of girls. Also, big companies such as SM is widely known to assign specific roles to their idols. Her instagram aesthetics before entering SM had an ABG vibe and a lot of MYs and some casuals love the ABG vibe. Do you think SM should have never killed Giselle's ABG vibe and let her embrace it in aespa? Could she have become more popular with this vibe?

    Approved the thread.
  • I can tell you maid this thread after that one Twitter comment

  • Yes, but SM has always had this supermanufactured cookie cutter korean image that they stamp onto all their idols. It just kills individuality. I wonder when they will learn to take real risks. Er. Risks that don't include their ventures in music.

  • Whats an abg

Asian Baby Girl...but I think OP is either missing some details or they just mean her "ABG aesthetic" in general.

Because it's categorized as a stereotypical Asian girl who wears excessive makeup but also clubs and smokes a lot.

  • Being an ABG also means being care-free and ignorant. And she got cancelled two times by kpop fans for such behaviour.

  • That kind of image will never work for an idol in a big company, especially a female one. Only indie artists can pull it off
