Why did idle's rock song tomboy because a national hit but dreamcatchers rock songs flopped?

People used to say rock songs don't chart well but i don't think its the case

having electric guitars doesn't mean belonging to the same genre.

Dreamcatcher used to do gothic metal/rock inspired music (it's less prevalent now I would say) whereas TOMBOY is mostly punk pop rock. not the same energy, not the same vibe.

Do you not listen to both their music? Do you really find them alike?

Rock's just a genre, and a broad genre at that.

Doesn't mean every song from that genre will be a major hit.
