    I. Introduction

    PonyCanyon, (株式会社ポニーキャニオン, Kabushiki gaisha Ponī Kyanion), also known as Ponican, (ぽにきゃん, Ponikyan) is a Japanese entertainment company established on October 1st, 1966 with its headquarters located in Minato, Tokyo, Japan.


    II. Background

    Since their launch in 1966, PonyCanyon is specialized in media such as TV shows, video games, and music. Prior to being named PonyCanyon, they were named Nippon Broadcasting System Services, Inc. They have a label for licensing anime in North America named Ponycan USA since the month of September 2014.
