Why do people care so much about these stuff?
Lee Sooman, the de factor chairman of S.M, was about to sell his S.M shares to either Kakao or Naver, more in favor to Kakao, after HYBE rejected to pay the share price Lee Sooman demanded.
Lee Sooman losing his shares possibly means he has less to no control in S.M. The typical Lee Sooman's noise music and all his yet-to-fulfill projects may be gone.
If Kakao buys Lee Sooman's shares, S.M will be another sub-labels of Kakao M. Idols under Kakao M, Weeekly, The Boyz, WJSN, STAYC etc. may have more interaction with S.M's idols. Some sub-labels of Kakao M may be merged into S.M.
Now that both Kakao and Naver being investigated by the authority, the S.M deal may be canceled and HYBE may be back in the game again. Now, it is a possibility that HYBE will buy Lee Sooman's shares and get S.M under its wings. In this case, HYBE will become K-pop monopoly.
Or, Lee Sooman will keep his shares and still bossing S.M.
