NiziU are co-managed by Sony Music that makes the Big 4's earnings look pathetic.

Itzy and NMIXX are multi-million dollar earning groups that don't need hand outs while

VCHA is co-managed by Republic Records that makes the Big 4's earnings look pathetic.

    Having said that.....

There aren't many TWICEs, BPs and SNSDs that have careers that earn respect from not only their dongsangs but other juniors in the Industry.

It's not just JYPE making money but it's the whole group, when Nayeon had a debut, 8 members earned less money, when JiHyo debut, , 8 members earned less money, when MiSaMo had a debut, 6 members made less money.

We are easily talking about 3 million album+ Sales if TWICE made a comeback instead of them, they generally have merchandise with each comeback so that's a further loss of earnings as well as Sponsors they could negotiate with for those comebacks.

From a financial point of view for JYPE and the members, there was no need to have Solos BUT...

When re-negotiating contracts, JYPE can only deal with individuals, as they don't know the future of the group, we also know that TWICE members didn't discuss it.

I'm saying that there was no need for Solo Careers for TWICE because they would have been financially fine and the members enjoyed promoting as a group meaning it wasn't a negative for them not doing it earlier

For first week sales it's Pre-Orders, so shipments isn't a factor as the majority are Online Retailers that will place orders for what they were given, most will then close orders or be "out of stock" on that day. This usually leads to the stupid claims of fans that their biases would have sold more albums if their company would restock, ignoring the fact that the Retailer won't order them.

Additionally, HANTEO affiliated Online Retailers are well known to declare sales before getting the albums as they can provide proof of purchase.

Shipments affect Distributors registered to Circle and declaring them, they should reflect the overall purchases of the Retailers but they generally don't as companies can use foreign Distributors or the Company may do it on their own and not declare them (due to sajaegi suspicions).

Exports are albums that are shipped to a non-Korean Retailer as opposed to Korean Retailers couriering them to non-Koreans as the Distributor will record them shipping to a Korean Retailer, so they won't be exports.

Things like Spotify/youtube/Circle + concert attendance are the way to measure groups success. Sales are completely useless.

Spotify and Youtube Charts only track popularity of a Song, you don't have to have any interest in the Artist to keep streaming and listening to a song.

Got7 got away with their name somehow.

Legally they are entitled to it as all members left, they had no issues with claiming it from JYPE

How can a company trademark one’s name? And can you counter that in any way? Like put a counter trademark request?

If all the members of the group leave the company the group had a contract with, that group can claim all rights entitled to them that the company holds, except for some Music that is held by the original copyright owners.

This is why SME keep at least 1 member under contract so they can keep the trademark for the whole group, under the current contract with BP, the members are restricted from doing any BP song due to YGE still holding the contract for their group activities.

JYPE is one of the worst companies when it comes to solo activities (twice had effectively) no solo activities in their first 6 years - hell they didn't even get individual IG accounts until their seventh year (SKZ didn't get it until this year their fifth) JYPE still hasn't given Itzy their individual IG accounts - JYPE is not the best company for solo activities since the ghost of Suzy still haunts him in this sleep!!!

That's give and take, JYPE earns far more money having a group comeback than any money that TWICE Soloist have. Additionally, TWICE members get a huge loss in earnings when Solo and SubUnit debut as all TWICE activity is put on hold except for those Soloist and SubUnits that get a massive payout.

Individual IG accounts is just more work for Managers to monitor as they have to ensure that members don't post something stupid which Nayeon (illegal program for music and watching movies) has done in the past for their Team IG. Also, posting too much on Social Networks gives an impression that you're unemployed

TWICE were restricted from VLive (Realtime streaming platform) because they were doing that instead of resting, much the same as Bang Chan was with his channel and we know how busy both were with just their normal Idol activities.

In fact, most "individual social accounts" are boring impersonal accounts posting a random photo or quote that a bot can do. And as you usually have to know the group to stan an individual that would still buy the group merchandise, there isn't really a lot of marketing value to them.

Well they can do that as "photobooks" and don't need albums for that and everything goes more and more digital so it would be a bit strange if not phycials stuff like photocards also would decline a bit.

HYBE release "Albums" with no CD, same packaging as a CD Album, all the same photocards and a Digital Link to the Album, at least for NJ.

It's a group of fans that massively bulk buy because they have sold almost a million non-CD HYBE albums when there is no benefit in having them

Some do as Groups can be seen as a stepping stone to a Solo Career in either Music or the Entertainment Industry, of course, it depends on the financial success of the group.

If a GG is at the money earning of TWICE then there is no need for Solo Careers in their first 7 years, after that, members get old so doing the choreo for some of their earlier songs doesn't suit them, that means they will get Solo work. Of course a financial giant killer BP has had Solo careers but the group doesn't have many comebacks so there was plenty of time to have them.

On the other hand, even a financially successful BG will move toward Solo Careers due to the nature of Military Enlistment which will break apart a group.

VCHA are excellent as an Opening Act for TWICE, keep it in the family and unlike JYPE groups that have already debut, VCHA doesn't have as busy a schedule.

NiziU was a group I'd thought would be an Opening Act for TWICE but the group already has Dome Concerts so it's pointless now. Both Itzy and NMIXX have had Showcase Tours so it's too late for them.

So VCHA is a great choice for a debut.

shouldn't it be time for one of Jeongyeon, Dahyun, Chaeyoung or Tzuyu?

unless none of them have such aspirations but it would be weird

Jeongyeon is still managing her Mental Health and she's never shown interest in a Solo career based on her absence of doing a Melody Project which is a voluntary event that members do.

Chaeyoung has started composing songs, so I agree, she's definitely at the top, while Dahyun and Tzuyu have been active with Melody Projects, a possible sub-unit might not be out of the question

There are other members that have been active doing Singing Projects such as Tzuyu, Dahyun and Chaeyoung that I'd imagine could have a quicker path toward a Solo debut whereas Jeongyeon still seems to be managing her Mental Health.

The Melody Project which was fan content that each member decided whether to do or not started around September 2016, Jeongyeon has yet to do one, which is a suggestion that she's just happy with discovering her own path.

Yep, a number that JYPE should avoid....

6Mixx, a project GG that disbanded 2 weeks before filming their debut, 4 of the original members went on the Survival Series, 3 went on to become TWICE members while 6Mixx's Main Vocal was eliminated.

Day6, Junhyeok left the group within 6 months of the band's debut, while there have been dating rumors, no Kpop company can cancel a contract due to it, however, he was caught bragging with his girl friend how he'd just apologize and it should be fine. He was likely removed due to the dishonesty he was showing.

NMIXX, Jinni is another person that left her group within 6 months of debut, there have been dating rumors again, problem was, she was a Minor at the time, it's not an image a Kpop Minor should ever be linked with and it's speculated that she was continuing her relationship.

Yikes!!!! Vcha has 6 members :P

Your question doesn't even make sense. They wouldn't need to "force" Tzuyu to promote there, I'm sure she'd LOVE to. It's probably her biggest professional aspiration. But she can't, because JYPE wants "tens of millions" fron CHINA, not Taiwan. Did you miss the whole flag incident and how they responded, including the hostage video?

Tzuyu's mother, whom flew from Taiwan to be with her, was the one that told her to do the "hostage" video, JYPE rightfully got the backlash as Tzuyu's acting was really good. She would later still refer to Taiwan without associating it with China but Jackson kept adding it when she talked about Taiwan.

Itzy did a Showcase there in 2019. They would hold a Concert in 2022 and NMIXX would have a Showcase in 2023 suggesting that JYPE had been willing to have TWICE touring there and there didn't seem to be any backlash from China

Which leaves only 1 possibility, the company is waiting for Tzuyu to decide when it's ready, after all, it's an incident with is mentally damaging. Tzuyu being active in 2023 is encouraging, I'm convinced that it's been her call all this time.
