Seeing new groups come out with names in all caps and thinking "Oh, god, what stupid thing does this stand for?" :-D

I was into the kpop fandom when EXO's debut was announced.

I loved Tao's teaser. I thought it was a really cool way to showcase an atypical talent. (Atypical within kpop... companies don't train their idols in martial arts, lol.)

I'm not big on Christmas songs in general, but I really liked this version.

Depends on where they're targeting and where the fans are spending money. Ultimately, a group has to make money on their releases, or they'll risk disbandment.

If they're super popular internationally, then that can be enough to carry a group, even if they aren't popular in South Korea. At the same time, if they're trying to break into the western music market and they're spending that $$ and time and resources and it doesn't do well, then just being popular in S. Korea isn't necessarily enough to carry them through that.

Ah, I went with Excuse Me. BESTie had such good songs. It sucks that they disbanded.

Disagree. Subunits are a less risky way to give group members more exposure, without risking that akgaes won't support the solo artist.

TTS immediately comes to mind. One of the most successful subunits ever. Tiffany's and Seohyun's solo work? Barely a blip on the radar. (Not even a Sone and I bought Seohyun's solo album; you all slept on some quality there.)

For another example: Orange Caramel. THE subunit that showed that subunits could have success. Lizzy and Raina's solos had... mixed success at the most optimistic view of it.,

2PM definitely knows how to perform and they have good timing with their releases.

Exactly. There are a lot of technicalities that can make a case fail in court that have nothing to do with whether he committed the crime or not. And a "not guilty" verdict is NOT the same as "innocent."

In the court of public opinion, look at how quickly people are going "he has receipts! he denied the charges!" So? He's obscenely wealthy, of course he's denying the charges. Submitting something to the court for consideration and not admitting guilt is not the same thing as even being legally found "not guilty."

I assumed selfmate was referring to Hyeran, their killer rapper who had been with the group since the beginning. IIRC, she took a break after their Rollin' album to deal with a health issue. She was always my favorite part of BG. (I like the current four, but they felt more complete with Hyeran.)

Hello Future is more refreshing, and Hot Sauce is more energetic. I went with Hot Sauce because that's what my mood is suiting now, but they're both good.
