The reason NewJeans' vocals are finding success outside of standard kpop fans is the same reason those fans "drag" newjeans; there's no overstrained high pitch vocals shoehorned into every song to display their "vocals". NewJeans vocals is at least in part deliberately produced to sound effortless.
