You bring up a good point. Yeah it's in Bb major but it borrows so many chords from Bb minor that you'd be forgiven for thinking it was actually minor

But that's why its so refreshing - every time that Bb major chord plays it just feels warm and bright and happy

I will also double post with the Diminished chord in STICKER (underrated af). It tickles my brain so much because its kind of icky but also so satisfying with the bassline

This post is for the music nerds out there. I was inspired by this brilliant post analysing the chords in NewJeans' Attention. Now most people who like the song point out that it sounds "refreshing" and most of that IMHO is because of the unusual jazzy chords in the intro/chorus section (the other part being the mellow electric piano)

The post does a brilliant job breaking down why it sounds so unique (and even includes audio demonstrations)

What I love most about KPop is the drive for songwriters to balance unusual musical choices with the need to create commercially successful music. I wanna know what other chord progressions AKP users find interesting, some of you have musical backgrounds so it would be nice to discuss!
