Yinye The first episode from Tencent is out on their YouTube channel, did you watch it? IMO so far it is very faithful to the book although a bit slow-paced, kind of exceeded my expectations tbh. Even less reasons to watch the Asian-erasing Western-washed Netflix version.
Thanks for the heads up! I will check it out and have found WeTV Malaysia also uploading it to YT with English subs. Will report back after watching the first episode.
I am going through a similar situation as your grandfather. My country been in a really bad civil war and drought since 2020 …
Take care, OP. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Your helping your family by giving them hope (this is important too) means so much to them and it seems you are already trying to help in other ways. It is a very difficult position to be in. Hugs.
They're not aiming to be mainstream (because they already are)...they're aiming for younger clientele and to tap into the Chinese and Korean markets. Koreans spend more money per capita on luxury goods than any other country.
This. It is all about building new clients and it is still true that in Asia we are still brand obsessed.
I love BTS for that and I’m with them. But I can totally understand why some ARMYs are still hurt especially the ones that went thru that era.
I’m just sad when some ARMYs even got mad at BTS for being so gracious (like some unfollowed Tae after he followed Taeyang, and bashed him). That one I don’t understand. And the ones that did this are usually new ARMYs who didn’t even went thru that era, how weird was it?
These type probably ‘Stan’ BTS for all the wrong reasons anyways…

BTS are truly kind people and they are really incredible to take the 'gracious' route but I think even more so: it's just who they are. They didn't become the people that looked down on them; they stayed true to who they are and have always been - kind and positive. It's also a good example setting for the industry.
It freaked me out every time the soldiers would walk around with huge guns. Terrible airport customer service too - the only staff that are nice are the food staff.
One time there was a bomb threat while I was there and the instructions for travelers were terrible. Everyone was afraid and I think I started to pray because they didn’t tell us anything but worst kept us there; everyone was so confused and held hostage for like an hour. I even asked was it a practice drill or real and the staff later said it was real. I was just speechless. Why didn’t they evacuate the area? Thank goodness I was there early for my flight so I had time.
CDG airport is one of the worst airport; had terrible experiences there. I am glad Jimin and Hobi are safe but I can’t believe ‘fans’ are still doing this dangerous crowd rushing thing.
Edit: Screaming that close in range too. Imagine how it must be for BTS and their staff. I understand hello - welcome or love you but screaming at them outside of a concert is just something I don’t understand.

This is a Korean adaptation of a Chinese novel: The Golden Hairpin.
Brief summary of this Kdrama: the heroine is accused of murdering her entire family and a chance encounter with the Crown Prince may give her a chance to find out the truth about her family’s death
The trailers have been so different in tone and so I already expect some huge changes from the novel. Looking forward to this and hope it will be on Netflix too.
True. I just mentioned this because I see a resemblance visually and not expecting D to be the next JJH. D can do as she pleases - so many things to explore re music alone and her career is only just beginning—
