And some day we'll have to have a conversation about how selective and insincere people have become with the whole "protect minors" thing. Because certain groups get away with A LOT and it goes completely under the radar
Oh? Do tell.

Nobody cares because it's Christianity but if it was another religion people would be going crazy. nobody has any respect for Christians or our church. Tbh don't let it bother you, just ignore it.
Like anything, respect is earned.
Why should anyone respect such hateful, outdated institutions that prey on peoples insecurities, gullibility and delusions that seek to more or less force their weird values on everyone else?just have even a little respect to it, no one asked to play along
I'll extend the respect to ignoring it IF it doesn't leak it's stench onto everyone else and have stupid meltdowns because a statue is in an MV.
I once likened religion to masturbation. If you do it alone in your home, fine. If you do it with some other consenting people who are down to do it with you, fine. Hell, if you find some other place where a bunch of you want to do it together but keep it private, fine.
The second you start trying to make other join when they don't want to, the second you all whip it out and public, the second you try and spray the results around to others who don't want it and the second you try and say the things you've sprayed all over are all suddenly sacred things that passers by must suddenly respect is the moment we start having problems.
How dare she!
Who would ever want to go to a place like this if she is there?
This might actually make me go to church though

Its not only Calvin Klein... the fashion industry is now working with a lot of kpop idols.
They are mostly probably quite cheap hires by comparison to Western Celebs with a good return on investment.

(Don't have specifically to quote but in general)
Double standards are interesting to me. Everyone feels for people when their culture/religion is exploited unless it's Christianity, we can laugh them.
Bp had to remove Ganesha statue from the mv and jake from enhypen had to apologize for wearing a neckless (forgot what it was on it). To me that's ridiculous. I mean, you are talking to a person who think that cultural appropriation doesn't exist, that term doesn't even exist in my language. but if we have understanding over exploitation of religion/culture we should have it for all, not only selective ones.
Oh make no mistake, my thoughts on religion extend beyond Christianity
The Ganesha statue meltdown in the BP MV was ridiculous.
Another case of "just because its sacred to YOU doesn't mean everyone else has to tip toe around it"
If you want to be religious, fine, thats for you and you alone. Don't force others to play along

But you still don't need to insult them, right?
I mean, I am not religious either, but I wouldn't insult someone that isEhh relgion and religious people have spent centuries insulting and abusing others for not believing in the same fairy tale, or doing something the fairy tale says is "bad".
They can take some lumps

I see kpop and Calvin Klein these days and I think of one person...

When you discover that in Europe we use some churches as clubs or restaurants your brain will explode.
Hehe reminds me of the church in my city thats been a mini golf called Holey Moley for years, and before that was a gay club:
Or even better, this place in Japan I went to a few times:
A guy I know did something VERY unvirtuous with one of the barnuns from there

kinda agree but I think that calling it dumb made up stories is disrespectful.
But... thats my whole point.
I don't care that it's considered disrespectful to religion anymore than I would care about people being too mean to grown adults interested in My Little Pony fandom, or painting Warhammer figures, or taking pictures of trains.
It's mean, yes. But thats all it is. I find so little value or point in following a religion that I consider it nothing more than an over fixation on a hobby and if non belivers are a bit disrespectful, suck it up. Their
delusionsbeliefs aren't my problem. -
Frankly, I think in modern days, religion should be treated as nothing more than any other hobby or interest.
If you're into it, fine, you do you and believe in your dumb made up stories.
But if other people want to poke fun at it, that's also fine.
Non believers should NEVER be expected to tip toe around the poor widdle fee fee's of believers.

Actually I am the one tokkis got a beef with ever since I made a post about how problematic the sexualization in NewJeans was... that was like in 2022. I've been targeted by them ever since because they thought me being a dive was the main reason I wasn't a fan of that shit. So no, it definitely wasn't me, lol.
Fair enough
On deeper searching... it was neither of you. Both cat-people here have spoken against Cookie.
I'VE BEEN MANDELA EFFECTED!
-
Everything about her fit here is a bit ridiculous tbh, from the silly underwear shorts combo to the top with wrist watches on it.
-
Sucks for Eunchae. If they wanted a sexy concept they should have let her debut in another group.
Correct me if Im'm wrong ( I get you and catgirl mixed up)
Aren't you the poster that was saying Cookie's lyrics and content are ok because minors can be sexual?

i wish kbs just cut the scene or smth, its not that hard
Right? It's barely a few seconds
But maybe Source wouldn't allow the scene to be altered or cut?
-
my point is they airing dramas with more triggering scenes all the time but no one made a fuss because it's fiction. The MV is also a fiction so why treat it differently?
Target audience and age of likely viewer, timeslot that it will air on broadcast television, the fact that dramas go through ratings standards and have age recommendations on them (which also dictate what timeslots they can air on broadcast TV), a clearer distinction between it being fictional and an MV that a literal IDOL (as in someone people IDOLISE) is doing the behaviour in. If a drama had a suicide ideation theme, it'd be age restricted and likely also have a disclaimer at the beginning. The film clip almost make the idea a hair dryer bath look APPEALING. LOOK! The cute, popular girl is doing it and she gains powers as well! How cool!
Besides have you watched Kdramas that are from TV networks? Shit gets blurred and edited all the time. They blur out knives. -
but they are angels in the mv so they can't die. why take it so literally when it's just fantasy, same as their k-dramas with fantasy theme lol
Because risk of young people emulating etc etc
Or risk of triggering people who are already having suicide ideation thoughts
It's a bit much that doesn't really ADD value to the MV
