I'd like to be added! :)

I think it's more beneficial for groups from smaller companies, I know in tbz case they gained a lot of their international fans because of the English speaking line, particularly Kevin being woke af and constantly going viral on stan twitter

I mean.. maybe they're not dating. the busy schedules make it hard to see people but they're definitely hooking up with people but probably not in a committed relationship.

The companies are strict because they want to make as much profit as they can. That mean they need to sell a lot and have big fanbase. How to sell a lot of albums, merch etc.? Fans that bulk buy albums (hundreds of albums per person, just to collect all photocards and to increase their favorites sales) invest a looot of money into those idols and it makes them think they 'own and control' them (not to mention a lot of expensive presents fans send to idols). Making them 'their puppets'. So yeah, the companies are strict to satisfy fans and profit from them, but the fans are mostly not really mature (young or not that young). And it doesn't look like younger fans are maturer in any way :D (they just want to act like they are so 'open minded', but jump on the idol as soon as he/she does something they don't like). I'm generalizing, i know not all fans are like that, but there are enough such people to control how idols should be presented.
This is off topic, i'm apologizing :D
exactly! dating will always be a 'scandal' because companies do not want to decrease their profits. also the reason why sm entertainment doesn't take legal action against sasaengs, because they are the ones spending the most.

the fact that he said the n word slur through a rap verse... an African American genre (hip hop)...

kpop promotes parasocial relationships between fans and idols to increase profit so it's understandable that many people have formed a personal bond/attachment to their ults but is anyone else like me and just completely emotionally not invested?
my ults are tbz and nct, I watch their content/interviews/performances, they're super talented and likeable people but there is nothing more beyond that for me. I'm strictly here for the music, memes and aesthetics. basically I'm a deobi and nctzen but from a distance lol
anyone else feel the same way towards their ults? -

practicing at 4.16? in the morning?! I could never lol

I actually can't believe the way some people defend and stan companies, Karl Marx is turning in his grave

I agree!
-
it's expensive and time consuming to properly stan more than one group

tbh no one in kpop is actually ugly, the "ugly" idols are attractive when you see them around non-idols aka everyday people, its all relative

edm drops and shouting/chanting choruses are my pet peeves
