4th gen gg stans seem suprisingly chill and mature
3rd gen gg stan wars were rough
for ive and lsfm, common izone heritage helps
(they seriously need to be in each other's dance shorts)
itzy and aespa stans don't fight much, maybe bc yeji and karina are good friends (and same age)
mitzy seem like a really cool fandom in general
i rarely see anything bw my and dive, but that may just be a matter of time
both my and dive seem militant about showing off that they're #1
that said, niziu is clear 4th gen leader from a pure sales and sponsorship perspective
nizu's sponsor list is the best in all of kpop and jpop (including bts and blackpink)

They said it’s the first kpop event this massive in Europe. I saw a lot of fans welcoming NCT , Kai etc in the Frankfurt airport. Their flight is earlier than Enhypen & Ive. I think they are the last grp to fly out cuz they finish first Music Bank
gidle arrived safely!
omg the hype - looks super fun

only delusional people are thinking that Aespa isn't the next gen leader
because it's a fact that they are the next gen leader, and TIMES doesn't give a f*** about who have more achievements, who sold more etc... like these dives and blinks are crying about
this whole article is about how Aespa is the next gen leader because of their contribution to make music go to the next level by mixing Metaverse which is something very popular right now with Music
and how they are using the technologies of tomorrow to bring a new experience to music
true
time has a different criteria than the randos in allkpop
allkpop values sales and musical awards
time values how the artists are relevant to future trends in society
for a general audience magazine, time's criteria is better for their readers
(even though i think time is mostly fake news)

Taylor can
pg. 5
top 2021 physical album sales:
adele - 4.68m
abba - 2.05m
seventeen - 1.75m (attacca)
bts - 1.52m
ed sheeran - 1.29m
justin bieber - 1.18m
taylor swift - 1.14m (red)
seventeen - 1.13m (your choice)
taylor swift - 0.98m (fearless)
looks like kpop and jpop are saving physicals as a format
and good for them - physicals are far more profitable for artists than streams

BTS could go on hiatus for 5 years and still be the most relevant group
Let's not get carried away now buster
bts is a great act, and arguably the greatest in history
but they're not relevant in the world of real money
aespa is more relevant bc their concept is directly linked to the fight for the near future
-
does any act anywhere in the world sell 1m+ physicals anymore (aside from kpop and jpop)?
could taylor swift sell that many now?
-
it's a great pick
aespa is more thematically relevant than any other kpop group now (including bts)
'metaverse' is getting pushed everywhere
(in part bc meta/facebook doesn't control a foundational platform like google or apple - it's their desperation play)
aespa gives life to this vaporware
these sorts of content (or "killer apps" of sorts) can make or break businesses
aespa is the only kpop group with a concept directly linked to this us$1 trillion vision of the near future
their concept is a thematic home run for this time, so they definitely deserve the time award (and many others)
(i don't stan aespa, btw)

For a serious answer... in addition to this being a partnership with Korean Tourism.. the company who organized the event is a public company called Live Company Group that seems to be based in the UK. They seem to be involved in event planning for various fields including some cycle races and some lego type stuff.
thanks - useful comment

Tomorrow when IVE and Dreamcatcher go on stage.
Now that I think of it, I wonder why OP's concern doesn't extent to (G)I-DLE.
i don't follow gidle
but more top acts means higher likelihood that the promoter/organizer is reputable
-
huh?
Reputable? It's the first time it's being held. So no reputation as of yet.
BUT, and a huge BUT
It is held at a very reputable place, it's sponsored by the Korean government and other very big companies.
P.S.A. Stop babying idols, everybody. They have companies, managers and bodyguards. They don't need your fake concern.
that's good to know
no history of events is a huge red flag
kpop acts have been swindled by fly-by-night promotions
especially in foreign countries where they don't have a strong vetting network
the sponsor list is a good sign
