SVT should have been really in top 10 then. Pledis is
Physical sales make more than digitals. BTS was 5th biggest profit maker for UMG based on one Japanese album. And they only have distribution.
Bighits biggest revenue maker was albums, which made 40% of revenues.
259m for merch sales?? WTF.
combinate SEMICOLON AND HENG:GARAE
if that's the case
ikr. these "official" articles combine the sales for certain artists to make it look good but does not apply it to other groups/artists. i'd skip this and just check GAON.
Display Morewasn´t SM biggest year in physical sales? where is the money? where are those sales
SM is just a fraudulent raggedy... b
ANYWAYS I LOVE TO SEE IT
ikr. dont get it as well. also, several artists/groups had paid online concerts. saw a thread comparing concert attendees per artist. guess those were not profitable enough to atleast lessen losses from other businesses.
sm still net loss? should've made that concert a paid one.
That was a witch hunt by y'all anyways
Never was sexist, if anything I was saying it like it is
get out of an appreciation thread and make your own thread.
china sales are counted in ifpi. now kpoppies can't use the excuse that china sales are not counted anymore.
It's an admirable peak for any act.
They should take hiatus & let them world appreciate their contributions to the music industry
NO. why aren't you banned yet???
Display MoreBased on the figures, it looks like IFPI weights album sales differently:
Japanese Albums: ~1.25
Chinese sales: ~0.50
This explains Arashi's #1 last year because I was confused as to how in the world did they manage to sell more than 500K+ out of no where. It makes sense since Chinese digitals are cheaper than other countries and Japanese albums are sold for $30-$50.
Japanese digital sales are actually higher than your average digitals in the west as well. BE costs $3 in China [NetEase], $9 in the USA, and $12 in Japan.
Thanks. This is why japan still reigns over china as expected.
3 albums with 3 different languages. they dominated!
industry should be lucky they didn't drop anything in january 2021. by their trajectory, it'a gonna outsell.
Possible yeah. Blackpink's album didnt win them in physical sales but it has 1.4M chinese downloads and its 5th
thanks. makes sense because i doubt their companies wouldn't report sales when they are huge this year. digitals just didn't cut it.
japanese album did THAT.
yes. but, it is cheap even if if bought in millions.
