Its fine, most use Youtube in SK.
Melon too (6.77m users vs. 6.04 yt music users). But even then Spotify is like the 6th most used music streaming service in SK, it's very unpopular relative to the West.
I'm also shocked that Lee Hi song is so popular on spotify, I'd never even heard of it before now. I looked it up on Melon and it peaked at 62 on the daily chart and didn't even make the weekly chart. It seems like a very atypical song to blow up among ifans.

she's a K-R&B soloist and her sister is an idol (in Triple S I think), and she's friends with and occasionally collabs with some idols. But she isn't an idol herself, and so doesn't really make any noise on this forum or other kpop social media places like twitter or reddit. She's closer to Heize or Lee Hi than Kwon Eunbi or Soojin or whatever.
She's currently having her biggest hit ever right now tho (Bam Yang Gang is the song's name), so you'll probably be hearing about her more as people start to success stan her.

Straight up honest?
Stray Kids: I think they don't care about their vocals' treatment as much as they should. There's some producing choices made by members that make them going beyond what they are technically capable of while singing and It can hurt their vocal chords in the long run. It's unpleasant to watch some of their recording behinds because of that. They should respect more their limitations and value only their strengths.
NewJeans: I don't think any of the members has the It Factor and Born-to-be-a-star aura to stand out as individual idols, even If they've been fairly promoted separately, this perception doesn't change. It's okay, I think they cover it up with other strengths.
EXO: A few times I thought about unstan through the first years I stanned, not because the group itself was disappointing me, but because It was a group stressful to follow sometimes. I always had the perception K-pop is to be a hobby and bringing happiness, but their trajectory and hardships were frustrating to watch. It's like there was always something ready to go wrong.
Until this date, It's like that (you can see from the rollercoaster that was last year with the members fighting for their rights and exposing SM's manipulation to get them re-signing), but I don't think about unstan anymore lol.
ITZY: I think they never consistently had the right music to reach stardom. Look, I'm not saying I dislike their music, I love their output since day 1 and stanned right after their debut, so It was never a problem to me. But there's a difference between music you love and music you think It's commercial enough to help an act to succeed. And comeback by comeback, I was just watching ITZY members caring their hype with their talent for performances until they could. I lost the count of how many times their music was described as unfriendly in the beginning, just for people start liking after watching them perform.
I agree so much about EXO

I remember zb1 fandom being GAGGED! They were not expecting that from has beens lol
tbh I wasn't expecting us to win either lol, I thought we would definitely lose with no performance score

it's crazy he makes it look so easy now compared to when he did it in 2017, he's still improving

my boss gave me D.O.'s autograph like 2 years ago (he was at a wedding D.O. went to) and it's actually like addressed to me (to _____-nim), and I also have the legendary D.O. forehead photocard (I just got it "naturally" with my Universe album(s) back in the day)

Unfortunately, given the way things are going, it seems the 1,345 years old will reach #1 sometime in 2035.
BTS have 2 or 3 more comebacks remaining,
EXO and Twice won't be able to add any more,
And SNSD and BigBang have effectively disbanded.
Whyknock never expected Lee Jieun would overtake SNSD, but that is now in the horizon.
EXO and Twice will be able to tack on wins over the years; EXO won 2 this year and that was with only one week of promotions. IU will probably catch them (them being Twice and EXO) eventually tho.

too much money spent on marketing and sajaegi

Yoona is fine, she's good at playing her actor persona or whatever. Koreans actually like her a lot. She's more of a star than an actor if that makes sense.

Who knows what's going on with Chanyeol and SM, it seems like his album is always getting postponed. I wish he left.
And as for the rest of exo... you just have to be realistic, especially this year. There is no way they could have everything prepared for first quarter of this year. Just not possible, don't put unrealistic expectations and then be disappointed when it doesn’t happen.
Well at least for CBXsoo the wait will be worth it just for them to be out of SM; but I'm just so sick of SM not even trying to look like they care. Especially when the center Yeol/Suho are in is just churning out the Riize stuff atm (or at least appears to be set to).
And to be fair it was Baekhyun who originally said his album would be 1st quarter this year late last year, but I can see why he would prioritize the tour, especially with just starting a new company; I'm sure his tour will make tons of money. Plus, who knows what dates were free with KSPO.

Interesting... this is definitely a first for this song but not a bad choice
But if you're into Nayeon getting tons of lines, there's another song I could recommend
lol I uninronically like "that" song too
-
You're favorite? Like out of their 200ish songs this is the best one?
yes it's amazing bubblegum pop and Nayeon gets tons of lines lol. What more could one want?

I mean, his company officially announced that his album would be in April or May, so I guess it all depends on your definition of soon. I just wish for once we'd get something at the beginning of the year, but it's always wait 'till Spring.
Meanwhile, according to that SM schedule that came out earlier today RIIZE will have released 3 singles and a mini-album before any of the EXO members do anything (music related). Why can't they just release Chanyeol's solo already? Like he's going on a fanmeet tour with like 4 songs or whatever. Wouldn't it have been better to give him an actual album to go along with him?
-
idk it's hard for me to get excited about anything beyond music at this point; I'll be happy to hear Chen's OST but one song just isn't enough. I need at least a mini-album from one of them. I hate "Wizard Production" so much.
