I just find it funny to see people complaining about the promotion for her albums when she refuses to do any promotion herself. It's not mistreatment if she won't put in the work on her end. Her songs manage to chart anyway, so what differences does it make? They should focus on other artists who are willing to take a more active role in improving their results. Lord knows SM can't multitask to save their lives.

I don't think it's laughable that a SOLOIST pulled better numbers than a mainstream group. Gidle and Aespa only have a big advantage on Spoti and YT!

David almost all IU achievements you posted to use as an argument against aespa winning AOTY look laughable, especially when you see numbers aespa pulled this year. Yes, IU is successful woman, living legend, but this year someone did better than her and that's okay!

People thought, just because Soyeon is the main producer, she owns everything. I'm pretty sure she doesn't own the Gidle brand, just the songs she produced. No, but realistically it is hard to move labels, just because few groups did it, doesn't mean it is easy. These idols maybe can produce and perform but running a company or moving to new company is not easy, at all.

To be fair, everyone who left sm in peaceful way performed their songs, no problem, no issues(cbx are exception to that rule, I never saw someone suing sm and still promoting as strongly as they did). I doubt sm can block her catalogue but I absolutely do think that they would fight dirty to keep her.

I agree with you that die to management change her position in sm also changed, my guess is that she stayed for so long in sm was because she has already been with them for so long, had whole vault of songs and best producers in one place, sm is well oiled machine (especially compared to start up and small agencies) and agency doesn't depend on her so she can work and take breaks as she wants. This time tho... she seems serious.
