It wasn't too late but I think each group just submitted their songs without features
But who knows we could be wrong
I just checked and the eligibility period was from September 1 2020 through September 30 2021. They probably didn't submit the song because the album came out in October, they are eligible for next year though

it was not submitted this year acc to rumors
I don't think it was submitted
Thanks, I had a feeling it might've been a little too late to submit.

I swear, if the Grammys use them just for the clout only to rob them again imma throw hands. Does anyone know if the Coldplay collab has a chance/is eligible for a nomination?

Yeah, but it’s not automatic. Unfortunately, you have to apply for postponement. That’d be up to him to make the decision on if he would or not. There’s a lot of pressure and he could face backlash, but I hope if it’s what he wants he doesn’t let anything stop his opportunity.
This law is not exactly new, it was reintroduced this year, there's plenty of idols who were able to postpone with no backlash and they were nowhere BTS's level, only haters doubt their influence at this point. If they're going to enlist at all they're probably going to do it in the second half or the end of the next year. They are booked for the rest of this year, plus they have a comeback lined up and possibly a tour for the first half of 2022.

Due to the new law he is able to postpone his enlistment until he is 30 (international age), he is turning 29 this year, so he's safe for at least one more year.

Man, he could sing me kimchi recipes and still make me cry because of his emotions and flawless vocals. Hope he sees all the love the song is receiving from all over the world .

BTS are far from losing fans, the only ones I've seen complaining recently are the solo stans. People are stuck on those 3 english songs and use them as an excuse/exemple as to why BTS is not the same anymore yet they forget about the other 250+ songs, not to mention the complete erasure of BE which is not a western/Billboard friendly album at all.

I'm sorry to break it to you all but nothing in kpop is original anymore, I'd rather say very late to the trend actually. How can someone say that aespa's concept is original when we've seen artists like Gorillaz doing it for more than 20 years, also Hatsune Miku, K/DA etc. and various media as well.
Hybe is also known for creating fictional worlds for their artists, just like they did with BTS, we've seen it all in games, webtoons, novels etc. Finding inspo in curent/past trends and Pinterest boards is far from authentic if you ask me and I'm saying this as an artist myself. People should get out of the kpop bubble once in a while.

Good point, but I'm more inclined to believe that BE will be nominated given that MAMA seems intent on being more "credible" by removing fan votes and disqualifying BE from the list of nominees would no doubt do the opposite given that a song from Oct 2020 was nominated and a group which debuted later than BE's release is qualified for Rookie of the Year.
I think so too, it wouldn't be fair not to. We'll see how they play it out, but personally I wouldn't put it past mnet to pull something like that.
-
Ohh but was it nominated last year? If it wasn't then it count
They nominated and won with MOTS: 7. BE is eligible for a nomination.
-
Nah pretty sure it is nominated. Mino's song Run Away was released on October 30, 2020 and is nominated in the hiphop category.
Yeah but this is MAMA and they love drama, that's why I'm a bit skeptical, it's the only category that BTS can't win if they don't nominate BE, so they might jump at the chance.

Makes sense to me, I'm really curious to see if they're going to nominate BE for album of the year though because they technically should, but I have a feeling they might get robbed in that category. Either way prepare for the meltdowns.

AMAZING!!! His vocals, I got goosebumps all over.

No, they changed the names of the characters, it’s a story on its own.
If the names are still on Disney Plus, it’s probably because Disney Plus copy pasted the old introduction.
Nah, it doesn't change much unfortunately. It's still based on a real life event, same year and many other similarities, it's not that hard for koreans to put 2 and 2 together. They will be able to dodge a bullet if they changed it up completely but it's still a sensitive topic for them, romanticizing it will only make it worse. Maybe that's why is getting a Disney+ premiere, the producers probably heavily rely on the international audience since it's already in hot waters in SK.

It's what they deserve, now sue them next!

This got to be one of the dumbest controversies I've ever heard. I'm an Army and I had no idea that JK's brother had a clothing brand, to me that was just a plain shirt, how exactly is that his fault that fans and antis especially dig every single little detail.
That's like trying to throw BTS under the bus for wearing their own merch, people should mind their own business.
Glad BH doesn't waste their time with such stupidity and sues instead.
