All the citizens telling the president to f--k off the entire week is fantastic. The fact that I have not seen a single person disagreeing with the sentiment of him needing to be jailed, says a lot.

Also, it works both way, if it's easy to break contract it can be as easy for companies to claim similar "break down trust" and dump artist they don't want anymore.
Companies already have been doing this since the beginning. Constantly. The ball has always been in corporations favors.

.....................the jokes people are making in the replies are gross bruh. Let's not joke about how she is still alive. We should be happy she is alive still.

Okay now THIS makes sense - thanks for the context. They signed on thinking they'd be under one of the biggest US record companies and would barely have any relation to JYP after the training was done. With this angle, it makes sense that Republic was hoping the show would get a huge following and when it didn't they half abandoned the group and show which makes the whole issue of who has been responsible for them so much more confusing and explains why she was thanking JYP at the same time as calling them out for abuse.
Since they apparently have been in a dorm in LA since January, who are the staff that have been taking care of them all this time?
The US branch of JYPE has been in charge of them since Republic abandoned the group not even a month after their debut album. I have no idea who their manager is though, as they have kept that quiet the entire time.
But yes ORIGINALLY, they were supposed to join the ranks of Nicki Minaj, AJR, Ariana Grande, Anitta, Conan Grey, FLO, Florence & the Machine, Jelly Roll, Nelly Furtado, Shania Twain and even ITZY. But be exclusively managed by Republic but for quite a while now they have not been listed on the Republic artist's page.
Edit: It appears VCHA has been readded to the artist page but is the last artist on the entire section, and are now listed as JYPE artists NOT Republic Aritsts.

This is not the time to blame the literal children for being abused. There is never really a time for that. Have some compassion. The show was advertised as JYPE just training them and then they were going to be under Republic Records, the entire thing from the get go was not handled the way it was promoted to the auditionees, and when the kids are as young as 12-14 years old, they are not going to fully understand that someone would be so deceptive. The only children who usually do understand that by that age, are ones who had unfortunate home lives.

Which is what happened with Shinhwa almost 20 years ago, so they are trying to make sure it's never happening again. It almost did with TVXQ and EXO (twice now), and they immediately did whatever they could to tear the members apart for daring to stand against them.
These companies never f--king learn. Just treat people decently and they won't have any problems for people to expose. The executives cannot get that through their thick money hungry and egotistical brains though.

Also i kinda knew that debuting localize western group like vcha, katseye, dearalice, would be the end of kpop
Well it wouldn't be if the companies actually treated people like human beings and with compassion and care. So really it is the companies own fault. It is like when someone gets arrested for punching someone, if you did not want to be held accountable for it, maybe just don't abuse people.

A kid is suing about being mentally and physically abused, surveilled, underpaid, overworked, other kids trying to off themselves and your main concern is Twice's comeback being affected??????????????
And most of the ONCE guild is more worried about the girls wellbeing now that this has come out, than anything. That comment was unneeded for sure. Also lawsuits take a while to be filed, as supporting documents and stuff have to be provided especially in entertainment industry ones.
