The problem is that they have 800k album sales. That's still a ginormous amount of albums for a group that supposedly doesnt have a big fanbase.
They have a huge fanbase in China. Their C-bars bought around 400k.

I don’t think so. Based on the snippet, it sounds more like a b-side they’re promoting before the album release rather than a full on English single.

I don't think most 4th gen girl groups have stable fandoms who'll go out of their way to vote for them. Why is it that when it comes to voting, it's still almost always Twice vs BP for #1? We know album sales are bought in bulk these days so I don't know if that's a good indicator of fandom anymore.
But they're going great digitally and they have the public's interest, so I think NewJeans will only grow.

newjeans is only a five-month old group, did you guys forget? 😂 In terms of digital and physical, newjeans did better compared to twice in a span of 5 mos
Obviously they did “better” looking at the numbers, you have to keep the generation shift in mind. Kpop in 2015 did not have the popularity it does in 2022.
The way charts work have completely changed and physicals have increased drastically.

Doesnt this feel like TWICE when they released TT like…. They were so famous it was crazy and undeniable but i feel like this time around the 3rd gen groups are still so popular but the 4th gen groups are also pretty fierce on their own and yeah
