for a company that uses cgi in almost every mv i thought jyp will do a better job with the posters
visuals didn't disappoint though, the girls are gorgeous

imo starship or p-nation
cube has been free-falling for the past few years while starship hit huge with monsta x and now ive. p-nation on the other hand has some of the best and most popular soloists currently - jessi, huna, dawn, crush, they're all big in korea.
rbw is big but i don't think they're as big as the other two
this loona song. it's a crime they didn't put it, it's one of their best bsides
because it's not as easy as it sounds
first, big bang has a unique charisma that no other group has. TOP used to drive everyone crazy by just removing his sunglasses... i can't name a single male idol who can hype the crowd by just standing on stage and doing nothing the way big band did.
second, companies know that having a loyal fanbase ready to spend an enormous amount of money and time to support their group is much more beneficial than the gp being interested. imagine you're a CEO of an entertainment company - you wouldn't care if your group can crack Melon top 50 if they just sold 2M albums... it's much easier to appeal to a certain group of people and make them loyal fans than to try to satisfy the taste of the general public as a whole
third, kpop nowadays is all about dancing and synchronisation. even if a group decides to focus more on vocals than choreo, they won't go too far because let's be honest, few are the people who genuinely care about singing and rap when their boys can do backflips and splits on stage while being shirtless.
forth, if you want to succeed you need to create something original and interesting. as other users already said, why would you go for a poorly made substitute when the OG everyone loves is right there
tbh i don't even know why. they've never done something to personally offend me and I'm not even that interested in their groups. ig, from what I've seen as content, i just get the feeling i don't click with them
both act a bit arrogant and douchebag-y imo. of course i don't know them personally. they might be great people but I'm just not getting good vibes from them, especially in during their earlier years.
and because i know akp's audience, let me get a cup of coffee while waiting for the quotes to arrive
still haven't listened to hyewon's song
i like eunbi's solo the most. it's chill and has that jazzy vibe that i love. it reminds me a bit of heejin's vivid which is one of my favourite loona solos. the b-sides from the album were also solid.
yena's song is super catchy and the most gp friendly one. this is why she's charting so well, plus she's doing a concept no other solo artist has done/is doing which is a bonus.
yuri's one needed to marinate a bit in my head. it's good, not as strong as i thought it'd be but this's only the beginning. i have high hopes for her future comebacks
I was talking to you since your wording was vague. I know what the OP says.
my wording was the way it was because I thought everyone who's read op's post will be quick-witted enough to understand the context of my words
read op's tweet carefully, word by word (hint: it's in the beginning)
They didn't ask for a cultural juggernaut, just other normal hits.
there are many other "normal" hits but there hasn't been THE hit after LS and i think that's what op was implying
the songs everyone is naming are all cute but none of it had the impact love scenario had. that song was literally banned in schools because it stuck in students' heads and distracted them during exams
i do keep up with charts and sales whenever there's a comeback. otherwise the only times i check the numbers is when someone tweets about them or i want to compare two groups out of curiosity
when i think about it... no, actually.
usually when i get interested in an idol, i gradually start falling for the other members as well and start following the group as a whole
i voted yes but considering the fact both blackpink's and treasure's debuts were delayed for years i won't be surprised if they debut in early 2023
as the quotes op posted suggest - IT girl is a woman with a magnetic personality, an extremely popular person who is setting trends, someone which everyone is following and looking up to as a role model and an inspiration regardless of the age
great examples for true IT girls are Suzy, IU, Jennie and Irene. everything they do becomes a trend and everything they wear or promote gets sold out in minutes, not only because of their fans but because the general public follows along too
i'm a bit confused by the answers because apparently stanning every group under hybe doesn't mean you're a hybe stan but stanning 3 groups from sm and 2 groups from yg automatically means you're a company stan? i have to laugh
of course, not everyone liking a certain company's style and music is their stan but kpoppies are going around labelling everyone supporting more than one artist from a certain entertainment as a "brainless company stan" while they're doing exactly the same...
about hybe stans - just the fact a huge portion of fans, especially armys, are taking everything said against hybe / bighit as a personal offence against them and bts speaks pretty clearly
her voice is nice and fits the song IMO. she did a great job, next time i hope she does the choreo too
