Kdrama OST's are something pretty special. Excluded them or the list would be very long.
Twice are past the point where JYPE need or want them to have solo careers.
People can feed the line of the members don't want but a 9 member group is never going to be that hive minded and they know a majority off fans still want OT9 or nothing so it will be parroted. Melody/performance/whatever projects will never be anything more than something within the comfort of fandom content.

Where Are We Know was very close to making my list. If I made this list in a few months it probably would make it, best ballad to come out since AKMU's for me if I'm ignoring OST's.
I've always struggled a bit with IU. Eight and Above the Time would probably be the highest on my list. Went through her entire discography last year and I think my favourite song was Lost Child.

In the grand scheme of things it doesn't make as much money as the other endeavours.
I've accepted that Twice solo/sub-units aren't something we'll probably get outside of them covering other peoples songs which obviously isn't the same.
The only genuine promo has been the Sana/Dahyun CF deal so I'm curious what led to them specifically accepting that. I read the company are looking to increase their promo in Japan so Twice made sense but JYPE accepting it is an odd one.
The "Suzy excuse", which is what it should be dubbed, is just not true in my mind and just mentioned as an easy reason.
Twice within their first 12-14 months became the best selling GG in the country (more than triple the next competition in IOI and had a top 5 selling album in the year below EXO/BTS), had the no.1 song on the year-end Melon chart which won multiple Daesangs (Cheer Up), blew up in Japan at a level not seen by a kpop group in years (TT), had a bunch of Youtube records and finished second on Gallup (highest kpop artist)
Biggest debuts ever and you're looking at Miss A, 2NE1, BP, WannaOne etc.

I'm going to say they have the biggest digital peak for a group but there's arguments both for them and for other groups for the biggest digimon of all time imo.
Just from a quick look at other groups previous charting I'd say BigBang or SNSD could be a contender for all time digimon.
Maybe is what I'm saying.
2NE1 performed on average better digitally than SNSD.
When I think of the 2nd gen I think Wonder Girls probably had maybe the most popular period digitally in a sense that So Hot, Tell Me and Nobody is a stupid run and there's an argument all 3 are national hits (2 definitely are). That's probably only bettered/matched by Big Bang's Lies, Last Farewell, Haru Haru and Sunset Glow. SNSD had the best longevity and 2NE1 the most consistent average (the way YG go about releasing music plays a part in that though). Sistar are always there but they tended to wait until the summer to release, bag a no.1 and then it'd fall off a few months later.
I bet they gonna ask what is the percentage of men...
It's one of the most anomalous facets about a kpop boy group in SK and why they pulled the numbers they did so what's wrong with stating that? It's also why they didn't sell as much but still out toured every kpop group in the 2nd gen in SK.
Did BB make it to 40s and 50s lists on Gallup during their peak? I dont think they had as wide demographics as BTS.
2020 Gallup:
Age of 13-18 — #1 BTS
Age of 19-29 — #1 BTS
Age of 30 — #1 BTS
Age of 40 — #3 BTS (Highest for Group)
2019 Gallup:
13-18: BTS #1 54.6%
19-29: BTS #1 38.4%
30s: BTS #1 28.2%
40s: BTS #2 23.7%
50s: BTS #5 9.3% (they are the only idols that made it in this age category)

I couldn't tell you - but they consistently had the highest first 24 hour UL's for kpop groups because they had the most people anticipating their music. Even back in 2015 when Melon was not as big as it was in 2018/19 in terms of userbase, they were hitting 1m UL's. You look at the demographics of their highest song on Melon currently (Haru Haru) and it has more male listeners than female. They and their music was anomalous in SK for a kpop group and I still think they transgressed that tag more than any other idol group.
The faces of BG kpop in the early 2nd gen was TVXQ who are very front and center a kpop group, same with Super Junior/2PM. Big Bang were the odd ones out in an era when kpop was on top in SK.
In my mind that doesn't take away from BTS - BTS aim for worldwide success with their music/brand whereas Big Bang, especially early on, were basically SK. Daesung/Seungri were popular variety stars/did some acting. G-Dragon was an massively popular soloist/one of the biggest fashion icons in SK. Taeyang was also a very popular singer with TOP in popular TV shows/films. Their early music led to a lot of that and that in turn built them even more. BTS actively choose not to promote to the same extent and range in SK as Big Band did as they are literally worldwide stars and have bigger fish to fry in a manner of speaking.

They are the reason that YG music from debut was massively anticipated with the public for a near decade. The level of trust the public in all demographics put in their music was big enough that just following Korean content around that time was enough to see how much they transgressed the idol tag/idol music.
Younger guys/girls found them hot/cool, the older generation found them the same plus meaningful/powerful through their music. Individually/sub-unit wise they all had varying levels of hits with the public as well with G-Dragon being the most popular male idol with huge public appreciation of his music.
Hard to compare in a sense that Big Bang's legacy has been cemented over a 15 year period whilst BTS are still shaping theirs. Personally I feel Big Bang's range and scope with success in general within the confines of SK are unparalleled still. I've always found them a bit overrated, especially their music in the 2010's, but SK eats up everything they put out

Yeah this is a good one as well - Taeyeon rarely misses
It used to be difficult to find some of the English covers they did on the show due to copyright but I've come across a few recently and thought I'd share my favourites/popular ones. The vocals and arrangements of the live instruments are always so good on this show as you can probably guess from the names the show gets.
Look forward to them being able to go outside of SK again. Was always good fun seeing the reactions of European's that don't know who they are when they start belting out some of the songs.
Will start with best vocalist in Korea and probably my favourite cover. Sohyang covering I Won't Give Up

This is actually the first time since Fancy that my favourite track on a release is the title track. Bit of a relief as always preferring b-sides with Twice never promote is a bit annoying, so actually watching more performances this time around then I have in a long time for a Twice comeback. My love hate relationship with JYP continues I guess, he consistently made the best kpop music for long time for me for the 1st/2nd gen, fell off in the 3rd gen but has sort of bought it back with this. Would still prefer him away from the group for consistency sake...
On the b-sides, when I heard the snippets I didn't really think I'd like any of them massively as not really my style and that did end up being true, so far anyway, but I didn't dislike any of them which I thought I might do. A lot felt like they were one addition away from being great.
First Time - in my mind the weakest b-side. It's too high to the extent it's hard to even decipher who is singing some parts.
Scandal - Production wise this is my favourite b-side. Those keys sound really cool but just needed a better climax with some more change up. Biggest surprise versus the preview.
Conversation - Decent enough song but like most songs on this mini just needed an extra bit of a progression to push it to another level. It's too familiar throughout and never really gets out of gear 1
Baby Blue Love - Reminds me a bit of earlier Twice b-sides. Don't really have too much good or bad to say on it.
SOS - I guess this is probably my favourite b-side currently but I just wish there was some more progression in the song. I'm not sure if I have this issue with a few songs on the album as they're on average shorter than normal Twice songs so feel like they're building to something that it never reaches. I like the melodies the most in this song out of the b-sides but needed one extra piece of progression to get to be really solid
As a long time fan I've never been one for biases and whatnot, find the whole thing a bit odd, but gun to my head for my favourite member and it'd probably be Jihyo.
Best vocalist, one of the best dancers and the best performer.
If she could also rap (to be honest she might be able to) it wouldn't be fair. She's one of the most complete idols out there. Everything she does, she does incredibly well.
She sticks out massively in bright summer concepts as we can see but then you just think back to a few weeks ago with her solo melody project and how effortless she nailed that darker/contemporary/more seductive concept. You can pretty much stick her into any concept and she'll be money.
