He was my bias in ASTRO. I can't believe this is happening.
The View is one of my favorites from NOEASY.
Taste for this!
The View makes me cry. It's so comforting.

K-pop has grown tremendously all over the world in these past few years, but same is true for Seventeen.
I know people who don’t keep up with Seventeen often feel shocked, especially on Western side of forums and platforms. No matter what they say, SVT has one of the most organic and steady rises in the industry. They went from 1,400 sales to 20k, to 300k, to 700k, to 1.3M, to 1.7M, to 2M, to 3M, and now 4M and counting.
The Korean industry and media just gave Seventeen a new title, “the Blue Chip,” which is insane, because they are literally implying that Seventeen has established a reputation at national level for their quality, reliability, and ability to generate immense profit regardless of good or bad economic state around them.
Everyone knows that they have a huge following in Korea, China, Japan, and SEA, but I feel like most Western fans don’t realize just how big they are. Just a few days ago, Minghao (The8), was trending 7th on China’s biggest social media platform, Weibo, with 471 million views for just stepping his foot into the country alongside big Chinese household names like Diliriba, Wang Yibo, and various other popular entertainers. Not to mention, digitally, BSS is currently the best selling K-pop act in China this year.
A month or two ago, both Hoshi and Joshua made it onto burj khalifa, and it wasn’t even their birthdays or any promotions. People just had too much money on their hands.
Seventeen fanbase is ever growing despite being 8th year into their career. Their old catalogs just moved over 1.2M copies without them moving a single finger. This is also dependent on the demographic of their fandom, which consists of a lot of older high school students, university students, and employed people. Even Korean Music Content Association (KMCA) critic created a whole YouTube video last month (YT: Seventeen Special by OK POP!) explaining and discussing their ever growing fandom and popularity, which I recommend you watch.
Their subunit, BSS, alone is going crazy on charts currently. They debuted straight into Melon Top 10, peaked at #2, and a few times they even blocked Ditto from a RAK when it was freshly released. Even on the daily kcharts, they ranked in the top 5 or top 10 (and on Genie and VIBE daily, they are the male group to breech it so far). The only boy group to have exceeded 1M ULs on melon in 2023, and as of right now it is standing near 1.8M-2M ULs with Fighting on Melon just within 2 months. They are also tied with Ditto for the song with the most music show wins in 2023. Even right now, they haven’t dropped below #15 on Melon top 100 ever since the song’s release. On Goan/Circle chart, Fighting’s digital points are steadily rising towards the 200M margin soon (for a measure, I think the song with the highest points is near 300M-400M— though feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). Even on Melon, I think Fighting is only a couple million streams behind from becoming the most streamed song on Melon in 2023.
In Japan, their subunit topped the Billboard Top 100 with their korean single, and they are the first and only act to have achieved this feat without any accompanying Japanese version. Speaking of Japan, Seventeen literally sold 1M with their J-album, and half a million for their 2022 repackage. Which is absolutely insane considering other than BTS, who’s hitting these numbers? They are also scheduled to play stadiums in Japan this year (more information is yet to be revealed, but it’s most likely the Nissan Stadium or Japan’s National Stadium, which will make them the 2nd act in K-pop history to do so).
Their streaming isn’t bad at all either, as they are the 3rd most streamed boy group and 5th most streamed group overall with 3.3B streams. Hot did exceptionally well last year on both YT and Spotify streams, so it’s expected this comeback will receive even better results. Even Melon, Seventeen has already raked over 100M streams without a single sound this year. I feel like I don’t even have to delve into their tour numbers, because near 600k attendance with just 27 dates just speak for themselves.
Even Going Seventeen, their variety show has been very popular amongst the general public of Korea, and funnily, it literally has its own separate fanbase known as the Cubics. The government even promoted it in Korean embassies last year to promote tourism and culture. A lot of critics and journalists this year have also talked about the show’s success, and how much it gets sponsored by various brands. Not to mention, so many GoSe ads and posters are scattered across Seoul as of right now due to their Don’t Lie series becoming a fan favourite.
In fact, two months ago, there was random play dance done in mall, and the minute Going Seventeen’s theme song came on, people literally went feral— again, over a 10 second theme song.

Recently, for their up coming, FML album promotions, they opened up “Seventeen Street,” on April 8 at artificial islands located in the Han River, known as Sebit Island, and in just less than 4 days the island has recorded over 50,000 visitors (the numbers have probably doubled by now). This event marked Sebit Island’s first in history of visitors.
It’s only fair, with all this success they are experiencing, they were bound to achieve 4M preorders. They haven’t been ranking high on the IFPI for the past two consecutive years for nothing now.
I could keep going about how successful they have gotten, but then I would go on forever.
Moral of the story, Seventeen is just THAT big.
I knew I could count on you!
