Nah, BTS cheerful colorful pop songs always do very well, their top 3 most viewed MVs on youtube all have this concept/sound (DNA,BWL and Dynamite) i suspect ON/BS/LGO didn't do as well (for BTS standards ofc) because these 3 songs are more mellow/dark and both fandom and gp seem to like their bright concepts more overall.

Highly unlikely, BTS is an anomaly in the industry.

I assume you mean people who talked about BTS releasing another English song so I will talk about that.
When BTS got big in the West in 2017 we had essay upon essay on how BTS has become westernized and how they had lost their identity for Western Validation.
Mind you, English versions or anything west related promo was fine until BTS tried it.
When the kpop industries saw what the west can actually help an artist achieve, a lot of artists started targeting the West and released English versions of English original songs.
So Armys used that to get revenge, and they used that a lot, against those fandoms and artists because the kpop community suddenly thought it wasn't Western Validation but a market full of opportunities.
A lot of Armys also said that BTS don't need to release English songs because they can be big without them and that they should change to fit in the Western industry. But when Dynamite was announced a lot of them suddenly changed their mind on that.
I think I should include myself in that crowd.
And now we are back in present.
To be honest, now I don't mind an English song because they did it way after they had become big in the US. It was the result of that success but the means used towards Western success. It might not seem like a lot different but I think it is.
Seeing how radio simply refuses to play their korean songs (LGO got a ridiculously low amount of radioplay compared to Dynamite) i really don't blame them for releasing more english songs now unfortunately that's the only way for them to get their songs to have a broader reach and more GP/non-kpop fans listening to them.

lmao it would be a sexy concept instead of a bright summer dance pop one

Three reasons.
First, many of us are Americans not Japanese. Maybe if you visit a Japanese forum, you might find some folks who dont like when Kpop bands do Japanese songs, whether it's BTS or any other band.
Secondly, Japan and Korea are a lot closer culturally than Korea and the US. However frigid their political relations, the two countries are deeply intertwined.
Thirdly, the problem with Dynamite for me as a KA is that the boys pronunciation was so bad i literally couldnt understand the lyrics at times. I had to use subtitles. If youre going to sing an ALL ENGLISH SONG, it would be best if the English speaking audience could understand it. Contrast this with Ice Cream, i understood every word, or even Twice's English versions, most members have obvious accents but i can clearly make out every word.
I think how Kpop songs are mostly a mix of English and Korean is actually perfect. This is how many Koreans talk, mixing English and other foreign words with Korean, i literally grew up listening to my parents speak like that to me. This is part of Kpop's charm and addictiveness for me.
Maybe you just have a kinda bad hearing i mean... english is not my first language (my first language is portuguese) but i could understand everything they were saying since the first time i listened to dynamite without reading subtitles.

it has the potential if the promo is good like dyna but it also depends on how catchy and how much the gp will like it.

Japan is the biggest music market in the world, Big hit needs to take advantage of that. maybe a full japanese album!!!
Japan is the second biggest after the U.S. actually.

I agree. K pop is at its most popular right now in the West, and BTS are at the forefront of that, with BP not too far behind. I think the interest in K pop will slow down at some point, just like the craze for Latin pop didn’t die but slowed down. Of course the future is predictable, but for me it’s hard to imagine other groups having the same success. The interest is at its peak right now.
For real, some people don't realise how much of an anomaly a group has to be to pull the kind of numbers they are pulling off right now... i just feel like i'm witnessing an once in a life time event.

I say that in 10 years the international interest in idol groups will die like it died in Korea.
For real i really feel like this is what will happen.

I've been following kpop since 2nd gen and even through the top groups of that gen seemed so dominant and popular (BB, TVXQ, SNSD) i still had a feeling that the next gen was going to have much bigger groups worldwide since kpop was still pretty much niche anywhere outside of asia, but nowadays after seeing the new groups that have debuted so far and considering how saturated the industry is and how koreans don't care about idol groups as much as they did in previous generations unless they are at the very top already (with a few exceptions like bg) i'm 100% convinced that BTS and BP will remain the absolute top 2 biggest groups worldwide for kpop even during 4th 5th and 6th generation i really don't see anyone matching their achievements overall, i'm not saying all other newer groups won't have success of course there will be ones who have big fanbases and good digital numbers but won't surpass BTS and BP that's just a hunch i have, i will be much more surprised if another group surpass them than if they remain at the absolute top for BGs and GGs at this point.
