Seventeen is huge but people forget about it also after the Hiatus of SNSD, EXO and RV SM went downhill
they don't have the top groups of the industry anymore , thanks god EXO is releasing an album soon and the rumors about SNSD comeback might be real
SM needs them and aespa of the new groups is the one who has the most potential global appeal so they need to play their cards r

So it's basically NCT US? Interesting, let's how it works out in the long run.
All about SM artists. They can slip whoever they want in that group there's no age limit and anybody there would work. Age difference right now 8 yrs from young to oldest so that's not an issue. I saw them in concert in NY and there was no shortage of idol recognition from that company between them. Performances and mentions of all their solo and other groups even the one's they're not in. They did a good job promoting even the GG.

Do you happen to know how long are they supposed to bee in the group as per said contract?
They stay and promote when one goes for instance Baek enlistment someone else will get in from another group within SM. There's lots to choose from. Capital is in it for the long term. Back in summer of 2019 there was a whole interview with Capital execs on how and why they chose SM to partner with. They researched and decided SM has the best talent and personable people to invest in. There's a whole lot more in the works in LA that's on pandemic pause right now. A building is going to be built and an entertainment complex all SM kpop related. All on hold for now. Capital has deep pockets.

SuperM is a PR group collab put together by SM and Capital Records to promote SM artists and that's it. Everybody in that group already has a main group. They were hand picked for their talent and personalities to promote all things SM including their first groups and solo work. They are not going anywhere and others in that company will get inserted from SM as needed. They are brand ambassadors and get paid very well for their efforts. Explanation is all in the contract with both companies.

What are your overall thoughts on SM's attempt to steal the thunder from YG'z global boy group BTS?
I think it looked good on paper. But it was still so forced. Like others always say BTS happened organically while SuperM was forced onto us because SM has all the money in the world to blow.
It was even more embarrassing when America shut down that nonsense kpop tradition of multiple repacks and releases counting to an albums overall sales number.
With all due respect to the boys cause they are just doing what they are told to do. But SuperM was the most try hard kpop group of all time.
