Not really a fan of people singing in english when it can be clearly heard they arent fluent in it (i say this as a non native english speaker myself)

Its also because many times i find lyrics to be distracting, especially if they are not good. I view singing mostly as another instrument and its a big reason for why much of the music i listen to is in languages i dont know and understand.

Where is this from? Tweet link doesnt work.

Anyway, its what kpop companies do, why would hybe be different?

If NJ does a stadium concert in K-O-R-E-A, which EXO, BTS and the singer who liked to create scandals with the most bizarre collection of men possible had managed, wake me up.

You say scandal, i say a cleverly devised plot by IU to maintain her grip of korea.

She saw the rising threat of newjeans, and had no ready to go project releasing anytime soon to answer it. It left her with no other choice but to scheme with her old friend, leaking this so called affair to dispatch in a timely manner for the yearly couple reveal, thus buying her more time to plot and plan her next step in support of her continued reign of terror

So random, there're some scary collabs in there (NJ & LYW would be crazy). I wonder from where did the account get the possible collabs but if they were all true and the show is a bit popular we'd get some big hits from there for sure.

Pairings are from a released teaser for the program where they show pictures of the artists above in one screen, and people now think all are true because Psy x Gidle turned out to be the first confirmed collab

I mean theyre already 256 hours deep so they an get to 278 by EOD tomorrow, but based on just streams alone because YT music is separate from YT MV views. I stream music through the YT music app, but if they counted views then BTS and BP would be #1 like all the time since they average like 7 m views a day

Youtube chart includes all streams with the song in it, official and unofficial videos included (lyric videos etc), but its filtered and south korea only thats counted for instiz chart.

True and maybe she doesn't earn a lot to be listed on Forbes. 12 is a big cf number though. Good for her.

Yoona also got listed on Forbes. I've heard nothing about the other girls.

Forbes highest paid cf model list? Its a made up list based on guesses an missing some very obvious names (same with the richest celeb lists) and shouldnt be taken seriously.

For example IU was not even listed on it for 2021, but its known from public revenue report of her company she brought in 9,5m usd on cfs alone in 2021. Number 8 on the list that year is Youn yuh-jung with 1,8m usd, which is laughable when the top celebs like IU, Yoo Jaesuk, Kim Sohyun, Won bin, Song Joong ki etc make 800k-1m+ usd per cf alone are not even included on the list

That said, somi wouldnt rank in top 10 either way. She might do many cf deals but it doesnt mean she makes as much on cfs as the s-tier celebs do

Not sure why you are so cranky. We are agreeing that it's a random opinion not based on talent.

I mean music is an art and as such very much subjective, no list like this, unless based entirely on sales / chart metrics, will be objective.

If you mean not 100% based on talent as in vocal technique / ability then sure, but then none on this list belong there at all. This would be a list of the 200 best opera singers basically, most of them unknown to the public at large.

Kinda funny seeing so many people being so furious with a list/publication they in the same sentence condemn as being silly and not to be taken seriously. Why so upset if the list is silly to begin with?

And as expected many seem to conflate being a great singer with being the best vocalist, which is kinda obvious it isnt when Ozzy osbourn is included at 112 on it

The BTS tunnel vision continues to be very real because what do you mean IU is #135? No one is brave enough to call that out but will focus on the easy punching bag. But to each their own. I can make my own damn list instead of being pressed about a random stranger's opinion about who they think is great. Jungkook will be great once he releases a full album like his many third gen peers have already done before him (we really had to wait ten years for a Jungkook solo album :pepe-shame: ) to solidify why he deserves to be highlighted and appreciated despite the bubble kpop stans think he doesn't.

Theres plenty of posts critizing IU being on it as well other forums/medias, non kpop fans included. I think you just mostly see whats in your social media bubble, which i assume is mainly bts/jungkook related and not IU. Of course i dont doubt Jungkook gets a lot more shit overall but to say IU is not getting any is false.

That said there are some weird omissions from this list

You see there's this thing called phones, with phone numbers that you can make calls and texts with. It's a personal device to personally communicate off camera. /ends sarcasm

But obviously as fans, we can only know about anything if it's publicly announced or displayed. Otherwise we'll keep speculating and letting our imaginations run wild. And so far it has never been publicly displayed that they didn't like their own family members involvement of going after a junior group. I don't expect idols to hold their fans accountable (although it's their choice if they want to) but how can they not do anything when it involves family that has no business in fanwars?

As an army, I will always support Jimin/BTS members but that doesn't mean I have to be sheep and turn off my emotions for how I feel about whoever they decide to collab with.

I mean i get that some can think like that, but with whats known today, where the members doesnt seem to have any problems with eachother today, one could assume a) it wasnt a thing to begin with or b) if it was they have spoken about it privately and its been resolved

Either way with any of the options above, even if one held it against them before, now when its obvious they themselves hold no grudges about it any longer even if they did earlier, isnt it time to let it go then?

I am kind of excited only because it's Jimin but can never overlook Bigbang members never publicly apologizing for their own family members making shady comments to a junior group. So this gives me mixed feelings.

Why would someone apologize publicly for something they never did?

Kinda ironic how fans cant overlook things when the actual involved parties doesnt seem to have any problems at all with each other.

Taeyang will be interesting to see, for all his fame in korea hes really only had one or two big hits as a solo artist in the last decade, and his last release in 2017 didnt do that well.

I think what might hype this up and make people interested is just because who are collaborating, likely being the closest to ever come to a bigbang / bts collab in the near future

I mean the perfomance was not good, but..

    1) Legalising about lipsyncing is just dumb, seriously really dumb, even talking about it.

    2) So much ado about something that was very likely thrown together at the last minute with no time for these idols to rehearse and practice for it even if they wanted

    3) All fault lies with their company. Instead of doing a cover sitting still they should just have done some typical dance music where it would not be as obvious they were lipsyncing.

    4) its overblown x100 because its involving the most popular 4th gen idol atm.

Ditto could hold on for long. January-february are usually mostly dead chart wise with one song dominating the period, at least looking back the last three years..

    2020 - Any song

    2021 - Celebrity

    2022 - Drunken confession

All some of the biggest songs of the year.

Eh, boygroups have since years been more and more marketed towards females in both image and music/lyrics, why would the average heterosexual male be interested in an idol boygroup? Its abit like asking why more women arent interested in porn which is mainly targeted towards men.

You mention bigbang as an example, a group that never really marketed themselves as boyfriend fantasy or played up the role much, and who had women acting as girlfriends or the like in many of their videos and on stage. How many active boygroups today have even one mv released with anyone of the opposite gender in it? They avoid it because its not part of the image/fantasy companies work so hard to sell begin with.

Women and men differ in interests and also how they pursue them. Even most of the girlgroups today have more female fans than male, and id say most new girlgroups are primarily marketed towards women, not men.
