basically you have to get five in a row (diagonally, vertically, or horizontally) without letting the other player get their five.

the pieces go on the intersections of the lines

unlike connect 4, there is no gravity. pieces stay where you put them.

A good tip is that you have to cap one end of a three in a row of your opponent or else its going to be an automatic win for the opponent (it will be impossible to stop victory if there is no pieces capping a four in a row.)
