I relate to this a lot. When I was little I had all these big expectations of what my dad might be like. Then we met when I was ten and he left again like 2 years after because he was just disrespectful as hell to my mum. Then he tried to make me forgive him a couple of years after that and stayed for a couple of months before he was rude to her again. So I can kind of relate to Sakura, meeting her dad and then him disappearing again. But for me I think it was for the best. Long rant but I just related to this a lot lol

I relate to her, I never met my father and even though most days I don't think about it, it's hard sometimes. You can't help but wonder what that relationship would've been like, it's a mixture of anger and sadness. But it makes you stronger, and I'm sure Sakura's mom is an amazing woman to raise such a talented hardworking girl.

From what I read, there's no joint child custody system in Japan after a divorce, so its actualy common that a parent never sees their child again after losing custody. Its probably complicated.....

I can relate to her a lot with having divorced parents. Unfortunately Japan doesn't have much of a joint custody thing and that results in parents not being able to see their kids. That should really change.

People have hated on her a lot throughout her life but she's an inspiring person to me. Truly the definition of an "idol" she always tries her best, strives to get better, talks about important issues a lot of others wouldn't dare to and is such an eloquent and smart woman. She deserves the best and only the best.

This reminds me of Eminem. His father tried to get in touch after he became famous and Eminem refused to ever talk to him even when he was dying. I think a lot of kids that are abandoned have a lot of baggage with that parent, especially when the parent contacts them only after they become famous. I can understand if Sakura never wants a relationship with her father. Being a child of a single mother in Japan must have been extremely hard.
