#LoveSTAY Parody Lyrics

As some of you know, Hyunjin had his bullying scandal back in February of last year I believe. Because of this, he was put on a hiatus for several months. Right before that hiatus and during it, Hyunjin was afraid that Stays would leave the fandom and/or hate/resent him to the point where he broke down on stage about it once (I think) and was visibly upset by this. Due to his hiatus, other members weren't allowed to directly mention him (or so I was told). During this time, one Stay created #LoveSTAY, a hashtag where people would mention how much they loved Hyunjin, so in case he or the other members saw those posts, they would know not to be afraid, and that Stays were still with them. In one Chan's Room (I forget which one), he said that whichever Stay created it was awesome (or something like that).

During Hyunjin's hiatus, Hyunjin, Felix and Jeongin helped to write a song called #LoveSTAY (I think all eight members helped produce it too if I'm not wrong) and they suddenly dropped it with no advance warning on December 27th. In it, the ballad talks about how much they love Stays and how they plan to stay with us, not just us staying with them. There are a few noteworthy references to nature and seasons as well. All in all, it's a beautiful song (coming from someone who normally dislikes ballads), with a beautiful message. Here is the song in case you want to listen to it:

Not long after that, some C-Stays took the instrumental and made a reply to #LoveSTAY called #FromSTAY, posing it like a letter of sorts. In this song, some C-Stays wrote and sung about how much Stray Kids mean to them and how they plan to stay with them. There were even messages some of them had written shown on screen, as well as the Chinese lyrics and English translated lyrics at the bottom of the screen. The singer sounds lovely and the lyrics are touching. Here is that parody in case you have not seen it:

* In the original song, I felt as if nature was mentioned a significant amount, as I pointed out earlier. In my version, I felt as if it was best if I did the same and mentioned nature frequently as well, as a way to pay respect to the original.

* When one of my favorite YouTubers, Lex, made a song for Felix, she called his freckles constellations. Because of that, I specifically chose to use the word constellations in my parody as well.

* I reference a small fraction of my Stray Kids journey. When I first became a new Stay, I had no idea how near and dear to my heart the group would become.

* The hugs being referred to are Chan's hugs that he does at the end of each of his V-Lives. They are digital, not physical, but a hug is a hug. Also, as a bonus, in their Oddinary Main Trailer, Changbin wore a "Free Hugs" sign, so there's that too. You can interpret whichever meaning behind it you want.

* On Chan's Room, there sometimes is a lot of flirting and teasing going on. On a few occasions, both sides have exchanged pick up lines with each other.

* Stray Kids are known for having touching songs (so do other groups, I'm not denying that, but that's a topic for another day).

* A nature metaphor meaning that I've seen their victories and losses, their struggles and successes, yet I go on to say that I still stuck with them.

* Some nights when I feel alone, I will watch a Stray Kids' video and feel much better.

* Another nature metaphor meaning that I'll stay by them, when things are going great and when thing are going poorly.

* The hashtag that brought the group hope and was in the original song in the same place, so I had to keep it in.

* Two Kids' Room is a show in which two of the members are paired up and they talk to each other about random things. Simultaneously, in another room, the other six members then talk about what those two members are like and their similarities and differences, as well as what they like about them.

* Cat and dog school is an old V-Live show that Felix and Seungmin would do together 9thankfully they discussed doing a new episode soon) in which they would try cooking things together or doing something else together. The name comes from Felix often being compared to a cat and Seungmin often being compared to a puppy.

* Again, nature reference.

* Felix and Jisung are sometime affectionately known as the "sunshine twins" because they are both sweet, happy people and because their birthdays are only a day apart, with Jisung only being one day older than Felix.

* Bang Chan is sometimes called Stray Kids' fearless leader by both fans and sometimes even other members of the group.

* Likewise, Jeongin is nicknamed "baby bread" by both the fandom and the group themselves.

* On many occasions, Stray Kids calls Stays pretty or beautiful. Yes, I know countless idols do it too, but I still wanted to reference it. This part also shows how I don't consider myself to be conventionally pretty.

* For the rest of the second verse, I reference the following Stray Kids' songs (in order mentioned): "Slump", "Booster", "Muddy Water" (bonus points since this one also doubles up as yet another nature reference), "Blueprint", "Neverending Story", "I Hate To Admit It", "'Cause I Like You" and "We Go". I tried my best to incorporate them seamlessly so they didn't stick out like a sore thumb, just letting them stick out just enough so that hopefully people who know the group's discography don't miss them.

* More nature references ensue.

* Admitting that I am on the other side of the world and they don't know me, but that doesn't matter to me because I love them just the same either way.

* While I joined in very late God's Menu era (more than a year and a half ago), it feels like not long ago at all and I plan to stay with them for many years to come in the future.
