This is the most accurate answer. For me is so weird that some K-pop stans even become arrogant and treat other artists and their fans like shit that don't value their time, that don't deserve to be compared with their faves and invalidate achievements just because It isn't as great as what their faves have.
So when they see that they can't behave like that anymore, since their groups aren't #1 like they used to be, they just leave.

The same can be said about the opposite and I am guilty of that. Once a group is too popular to the point I can’t help but see fans overrating them, I get immediately turned off. I don’t mean being toxic. Because this is not the group’s fault but things that make me judge the group instead of enjoying. Like I like them but when fans literally pretend that xx is the best at something they’re bad at (if they’re somehow average/good at it, I wouldn’t complain but actually bad) and even go to the lengths of comparing them to better people at that certain thing by undermining the objectively better ones..I just can’t help but notice how overrated these people I once like are and notice their weaknesses more. I know it’s not fair for the celebs but I can’t help getting turned off.
This is actually 1 of reasons I stopped stanning 1 group.
