Has any Musical Act reached a higher position than BTS in the history of world?

At that time We are the World was released in 1985, the following major musicians were involved.

21 people.

While some of them were less powerful and some are forgotten now,

Michael Jackson was NOT the one and only.

There were a few who could compete against them. (Madonna and Prince didn't like Michael Jackson at that time so they did not show up.)

Fast forward 37 years

and

in the entire globe

there is nobody

who can compete against BTS.

BTS

Has conquered

all of its rivals.

And

other than one person whose name I will skip today

no one is standing against it.

Has there been a musical act which rose this high so in the entire world, other than a certain person, has been vanquished by it?

Bach was actually fairly obscure in his lifetime. George Frederick Handel was arguably more famous , but only in UK

Mozart was sensational but in his day, as seen in the movie Amadeus (although it is fictional since Mozart's sons later studied under Salieri), Salieri and other popular composers were there.

Before modern age, each musician was popular in his own turf. There were some singers who had gained fame internationally but until the invention of recording there were no international stars.

Arguably Enrico Caruso(died 1921) and Fedor Chaliapin(who actually witnessed the Winter Palace taken by the Bolsheviks in 1917) were the first 'international' singers.

But did they vanquish every rival on the globe? Beatles did not subdue Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson had a lot of rivals which I listed at the top of my post

While BTS has no international rivals (and I had to cite IU since only she is still resisting it).
