Display MoreThanks for the detailed response and hearing me out!
I'm really all about seeing the best in every situation and working with what we have. People like to push the narrative that everything is toxic, but they don't bother making their own content to mitigate that. Instead, they contribute to the same threads they deem "toxic," hyping up the same toxicity they speak of.
Anons wasn't meant to be primarily about K-pop. It's not even designated as part of the K-pop section. It was meant for general threads so people could vent about life, ask for life advice, and show gratitude to others in a fun way. Maybe there would be the occasional K-pop opinion.
I've been around long enough to know many users want to make their own interesting and positive threads, but are too hesitant due to fear of "flopping." They feel embarrassed if not enough people reply, so they would rather post in others' threads. There's also the fear of being misconstrued despite being well-intentioned. That's just one reason why I think some users could benefit from Anons. NOT so they could shade and bash.
It's what we make of it. Main forum or Anons, everyone should feel free to speak their minds as long as they mean well. Continue making those threads and praising your favorites even if you don't get a hit thread!
No problem! I like it when people give me detailed responses, so I try to do the same when I have the time and energy to. As an optimist, I am too. I hadn't thought about that specifically on here before. On other websites and platforms, but not on here. Now that you mention it though, I can see it. I hate it when people are so hypocritical, not to mention that they complain about a problem, but don't attempt to fix it.
I actually had no idea about that! The more you know. I think people forgot about that purpose since it's used so often for negative K-Pop opinions. Yeah, I can see why that would make them nervous, but I just focus on not caring and having fun. I didn't know that the more you know. Oh, boy has that happened to me. At least three times on here so far, I meant no harm, but my words got twisted to the point where I could barely recognize them sometimes. Some people just do that. No idea why.
I think a lot of people on here don't know about that being a purpose of Anons. Maybe if you or someone else made a thread basically telling everyone else what you told me about what Anons was originally for, then more people might be open to using it and would hopefully use it correctly. Agreed completely. I'm open to dissenting opinions, as long as they are presented respectfully. I'll do that. Thank you! Have a great day/night!
