Kang Daniel shares how he found back a purpose of life after a period of depression

On February 17, Kang Daniel was one of the guest for MBC Radio Star. In the show he talked about the hiatus he took due to mental health issues in December 2019.

"I had depression and panic disorder. I lost my will and purpose to live. I lost my appetite and couldn't sleep well. It felt like I was living just to not die. It felt like I had become an animal rather than a human".

He added "I even thought working as an idol wasn't made for me and that I should quit. It's by listening to a lot of music from foreign artists at that time and watching others singers performing that I thought, 'I want to stand on stage again' and felt a renewed passion."

He explained his new song PARANOIA was written with the feeling he felt at that time.

I would not say they started dating right when he took hiatus and fell into depression and broke up right when he started to feel better when they have been outed by dispatch in August 5, 2019 and went to hiatus for depression in December 3, 2019. And if we chose to trust Dispatch words they started to date early 2019. Daniel came back from his hiatus in March 2020 (of course he was not completely ok but definitely in a better state) and they announced their break up in November 10, 2020.
