So, what happens is that our college has a mall in it. 6 days ago, I go there to bought some snacks for my friend which was coming to meet me from a different city and also to complete some of her documents. I pick up some snacks, go to counter pay the bills and headed for outside. A worker came behind me and stopped me and ask me to show my bag. I actually had put some cakes and chocolates from my home in the bag for my friends. I did not bought them from mall. They checked my bag and both owner and worker started accusing me of theft. To make situation worse, their security cameras were not working too. They called the security too and there was this whole drama for 5-10 minutes in which I keep on denying them and telling them that those things were already in my bag. There were some students PRESENT too. Then they took me to a separate room and after some chit chit of 6 minutes one of the workers pointed out that cakes and chocolates which were in my bag were from the brand which they had not brought in mall for last 2 months. Owner apologized to me and said that such incidents are constantly occurring so that's why they have to take measurements to prevent them. I was so mad that I did not even listen to apology properly and just head out from there.
Some idiot student who was present there recorded that drama (only a part of it where I was looking like a thief) and uploaded it on university's site. Video reached to my class fellows and my friends too. and then some asshole edited the video and reupload it with my name, roll no. and department in it. I told whole story to My friends and they believed in me but other students, no matter how much you tell them the truth no one is really listening. One of my friends also explained whole story to class and on university's page too but seriously people have just no intention of knowing the truth. Now everyone in department and class watches me like I am gonna steal their lives. I have received 20 letters telling me to die and calling me shameless bitch etc. Since last two days I did not even go to college because of this. I have missed 2 assignments and 1 quiz but I really don't know what to do. [REDACTED BY MODERATOR]
