Founding of the cult

  • Once Cult is the official successor chapter of the "Sana Guild ft Once" on old AKP. The previous leader idontsleep gave EjellieBean permission to found the guild on the new forums, so EjellieBean became the new and current leader.

Today marks the 1 month anniversary of the young cult, so I want to look back at these trying times and how we were able to secure our own guild subforum during the guild wars event.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war.

Luckily that time has not come yet and the guild wars on AKP lasted only 3 weeks. What were the guild wars you ask? In short: to promote the new subsection feature, AKP gave away 3 free subsections. During those 3 weeks, the guild with the most posts during each week would be awarded its subesction for free, instead of paying a whopping 100k Akorns.

In the first week our guild had a good start, but people got complacent and strongly overestimated the tiny 200-300 posts lead we had, so we got easily overtaken by the more savvy SKZ guild (Five Star Michelins), which would win week 1 handily with approx. 3k posts during the week.

Week 2 showed us what real war means, the Exotics guild and Meta Knights fought tooth and nail to obtain their subsection, in the end they both had put up close to 12k posts during this one week, while the Once Guild did not even manage 1k posts. The outlook to fight one of those opponents during the final week was pretty grim.

The darkest hour is just before the dawn

A few days before week 2 endend, the lovely rainbowblink224 randomly tagged selfmate in our guild thread and lured this great spamer into the clutches of war. As a great lover of all things Twice, he could not bear to see the helpless and devastating state of our war efforts and took it upon himself, to engineer a perfidious plan how to beat out the loser between Exotics/Meta Knights in the final week.

To emulate the heroics of the 300 spartans taking on the persian empire, a ginormous questionaire containig close to 300 questions was created by selfmate. The goal of the questionaire was for every member of the guild to answer every question within one sepearte post, thus gaining thousands of posts just be doing the questionaire every day. The original Questions were posted on Page 144 of the Once Cult Lounge:

Other guild members also contributed addtional questions to help out with the war efforts:

    Fortune smiles upon thee

In an unexpected turn of events, week 2 of the guild wars ended with the Exocits and Meta Knights both winning, due to a misscommunication of the end time for the event (time zones are a bitch) and the extreme close post count until the very end.

Suddenly the Once Guild looked like the winner of week 3, wihtout even competing. Yet the Onces were wary, week 1 showed us how easily arrogance can become our downfall and week 2 showcased what a few people that are willing to fight can do. The biggest warning sign should have been the evolution of the Meta Knights, their week 1 performance were miserable 500 posts and suddenly they knocked 12k out of the park. Also both Exotics and Meta Knights made 5k posts in one single day during saturday.

There was no room for laziness, for complacency, for arrogance or for underestimating our opponents. So the questionaire was put to work and it worked. Due to the lack of real competion, it was not used in the exact intended way, yet it was still highly effective and celestia490 noticed one day: "this looks like a question slave camp now".

In the end the Once Guild put up more than 5k posts during this final week, with no one else coming close, thus securing the final subforum for the foreseeable future.

After winning, the Once Guild renamed to Once Cult and this were we are now.

  • What better way to celebrate 10K posts, 1 month anniversary, and Valentine's Day with Gay Sana LMAO 8)

  • no greater tale of war has been written in recent times...

PeachPig truly inspiring tale based on real life events may be compared to movies such as 1916 and dunkirk, while it lacks a truly memorable or relatable protagonist the supporting cast does their best in this awe inspiring tale...

in these tough times peachpig somehow has captured readers hearts and minds whilst not deviating from the real life events that inspired his great tale...

I am Roger Ebert and i give this 4 stars out of 5
