Strange English lines in kpop songs is not something that is new to me.

But yup, the lines sound kind of awkward.

sms makes millions each year but still has the awful english lyrics they had over a decade ago lmaoo

And here I was wondering what they were saying

I seriously dont understand stuff like this, plus the bad English pronunciations. I understand some English words are just hard to say for Koreans, just like some Korean words are hard to pronounce for me. But there has to be a bare minimum standard that each song must meet when it comes to basic English grammar and pronunciations.

There's a song on the Hotel Del Luna soundtrack, Only You by Yang Da, where he tries to sing "I feel alive" but ends up singing "I feel live", he literally uses the actual verb "live".

ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS HIRE ONE LOUSY AMERICAN INTERN to proof every song and lyric before it gets released ffs. Hell, i would do it in an instant lol, I got a 700 on the English SATs don't ya know

I just heard it today. Still doesn't make sense why the English is wonky when they have an international level English speaker in the group.

I just dont get it. Do they not have one English speaking person in the entire company that can take three minutes to listen to each song and point out any flaws?

awkward for ifans cus all they understand are english lyrics but the same ifans don't understand the english lyrics

Or me. Someone hook me up with SM or any of the Kpop labels and tell em Blackpinkhouse will review and edit their lyrics and pronunciation for free lol. This is such a pet peeve of mine.

If they are cheap, they can always get feedback from the English speaker in the group. That's practical. I get disappointed how SME keeps dropping the ball on these kind of "quality control" details.

Y'all need to understand that this is a small to medium size company we're talking about. Maybe they have to make ends meet and couldn't afford hiring someone with basic english understanding. Please support SM!

At least these 2 lines make sense structuraly.

Take a look at this gem. "You make it feel me good". Like, how does this make sense in a sentence? Like come on Giselle, atleast tell BOA and YYJ, that these English lyrics are bad. At least for savage bsides, we don't see this problem. This make me think this is BOA lyrics. Also, their pronunciation is fine.

Below is what I posted regarding to the song.

I like the song overall, but here a few complaints.

1/ Please make sure the English lyrics make sense. In this day and age, this should be the priority if SM want aespa to capture the International market.

2/ Why YYJ keep having winter have the same high note (Yeah Yeah!!!) at the end similar to Savage? Make it different lol.

3/ I feel like the end of the bridge part with high note should switch between Ningning and Winter. Winter is capable, but her voice is a bit high pitch and doesn't have much power as NingNing, so the result is not satisfying. Look at similar part in Black Mamba high note part, where NingNing sings that part, and you know what I referring too. Note: This is not a complaint about which member should get what, it's just my opinion that would make this better.

4/ Since they changed and rearrange alot of parts, I wonder why they keep that robotic rap. I don't think it's attractive.

5/ why did they replace the female voice with the male voice regarding to the " ah...haaa." like, I don't want to hear a male voice whispering that to me. And it lost the dreamy feel when using a male voice for this part.

Edit: n/m. Just realized we are complaining the same first line. But yea, the second sentence make sense structured but not the first.
