What's a webtoon?
Jdramas have used Manga as source for dramas for years , Kdramas have started to use a lot of webtoons lately as inspiration for dramas.
Well if you lack inspiration and creativity mangas are your go-to. And it’s not just Korea taking notes, just look at how many western acclaimed films copy and paste Japanese mangas.
What's a webtoon?
It's similar to a manga but on the webb/online.
me watching yumi's cells which was a webtoon
I guess it's because webtoons have fun content that's aimed for people in teens-twenties
they can produce creative kdrama plots, are popular because fans of webtoons come watch, etc

If the source material already has a fanbase, success is easier
There are alot of good shows/movies based on books

2- What you're seeing lately it's webtoons made into Drama and if you're wondering what is a Webtoon well they're more similar to comics than Manga and most of Webtoon plot are appealing to teens and young adults, i read a lot of them they're really well written you should give them a go
Because young people in Korea and Japan for example love reading manhwa/manga /webtoon much more than real books...it is super popular over there so it only makes sense

who isnt obsessed with manga?
i thought they usually do it with webtoons, though?
Webtoon korean comics. Manga is a comic book made by Japanese, and I think Japanese comics are better than webtoon in terms of drawing. I wish they did Kaichou Maid Sama as a k-drama. It would be hard for them to find a blonde Usui but it would still be nice.
