Do you think western artist are insecure of Bts?

  • Do you think they’re wondering and thingking of them being top 1 almost every time they have a new song?

since when did you turn from twicesuuuu to btsuuuu? Anyway, I doubt they are, but let me tell you who is insecure of bts. Western stans, more specifically atlr stans.

don’t worry this is just today just saw them having 6 top 1 just lurking on Twitter I was just shocked that they’re so abnormaly big

  • there are western boy groups these days? I thought they didn't exist anymore, but then again I do remember that one boy group that disrespected bts and said they felt like a white/american boy group should be at the top.

i like some songs by prettymuch and one of the guys is really hot

  • Probably not. I don't feel like the western music scene is a competition driven as Kpop.

Good for you. I really hope you stay in kpop bubble. Western music scene is full of racist, xenophobic and misogynistic more than kpop itself. At the point where a lot of artists just give up with them.

  • yes i think they are, its a shame bighit approve these collabs with western artists that use bts for clout.

bts dont need to lower themselves and alienate their original fanbase just to pander to the west.

I don't think they're pandering. Most of the Western artists they work with don't need clout. They have their own fandoms and/or are popular with the gp. People like Coldplay and Meg don't really need a lot of help to be noticed...

Also, A LOT of ARMY are Western gp so BTS isn't risking losing too many fans. The only concern might be KARMY but BTS is gaining in older demographics in Korea even if they lose some teens. Anyway, that's why there are so many ARMYhotties, ARMYColdplayers, ARMYbarbz, ARMYhive, etc. ARMY was already listening to Western artists well before the last few years and at this point, I do think there are more ARMY who are gp than there are ARMY who came strictly from the kpop world.

  • Are we talking about top artist in the US? Like Beyoncé, The Weekend, Justin, Ariana, Dababy etc?

No i heavily doubt it, most have made a decent career for themselves.

If you mean western artist who are losing relevancy? Then i guess, but same could be said for an group/singer (western or in kpop). If your struggling, ofcourse you’ll be envious of BTS. But for top western artist? no.

okay, but bts have clearly lost their charm since they started working with western artists a lot lets be honest.

  • we don't know and we cannot draw a conclusion from imagination alone.

makes me wonder how the gp faves' labels feel when their acts can't sell a 4,000 seats concerts, while bts sells 70,000 seat concerts quickly

You can't just state something like that as an objective fact when it's a very subjective opinion. They've explored new musical directions and it's not to everyone's tastes, this is true. I happen to love their newer work just as much as their old. I love lots of different genres and styles of music.

70000 seats X 4 days, pre-sale to ARMYS only. (No gp yet)

Imagine the amount of gp converted to ARMYS especially after Dynamite.

  • Quick answer? 50/50, leaning more towards no.

The western music industry has its own fair share of troubles, but overall it's a healthier (just a bit, think of it as the lesser evil) segment of the global music industry than KPop. Western artists still produce better songs than most of what we have in KPop right now in terms of quality and longevity. I don't think they're insecure or if they are, it's probably about how much popular KPop acts earn well and in just a short period of time.

Some of us are living in the KPop bubble, we forget it's a niche in the music industry. KPop seems bigger than it actually is because of how noisy the fans are on the sites they frequent (Twitter, AKP, Tiktok, etc.) so they see what they want to see. But if you go out in the real world, it's not as popular as you think it is. Some have likened it to anime, and I agree. People like it and some would check it out of curiosity now and then, but only a few become die-hard fans.

How have they lost their charm when their streams and sales are exploding without an album release? You make a lot of hot takes (some of which are jaded but spot on), but this is just wrong.

    Is he.....you know?

    투모로우바이투게더 방탄
    레드벨벳엑소샤이니에이티즈

  • The actual artists? No. Not at all.

The record labels? They aren't insecure, they just want money. Eventually some other new genre will come along that get popular and suddenly that will be what all the labels want.

  • Nah artists in general always seem to have mutual respect for each other and support on some level - even within kpop most of these "rivals" are friends and show love.

It's the labels that are seething and insecure af. Especially as BTS isn't officially signed to any American label.

How u gonna put Dababy up there tho ☠️

  • How u gonna put Dababy up there tho ☠️

lmao he’s literally on the radio 24/7 (but i agree, he’s not on the other’s level) I hardly listen but it was on while driving to work and it was a Dababy & Drake song, like my man is booked and busy.

I almost put Doja too :pepe-peek:

  • Western artists? Not the popular ones. But I have seen not so popular boy band members trying to be weird about BTS (ex:BTR). Westerns stans? For sure. They are always spouting racist and homophobic stuff against BTS, harassing them under all chart accs along with kpop stans. Western industry? They must be mad that BTS doesn’t sign with them lol. BTS is considered an independent act. Columbia only distributes. Music industry? They are xenophobic af so I am sure they are unhappy with how an Asian act is drowning their western acts

  • Yes--lookit Shawn Mendes's face here when he ("*jokingly*") accused BTS of copying HIS fandom name "the Mendes Army" when HIS fandom name came AFTERWARDS!

  • I doubt I would classify it as insecurity. They're definitely a player now, and an act that has been noticed both by artists and the conglomerate sized labels that house them. Ultimately though, I don't think BTS success affects how western artists or labels will do things. Their success has only affected the western stans, like it affected the kpop ones.

Not true. Taylor Swift starting including Polaroids in her 1989 album, similar to KPOP photocards, and also added an opportunity to join a lottery to meet her in person with each album purchase. In general I noticed her packaging has changed to attract "stans" more than casual listeners (a.k.a. Lover's K-Poppish packaging.)

  • Why hasn’t anyone noticed yet? Shitty boy bands throwing shade everywhere just because a foreign group entered the gap left by 1D

Same with labels too because BTS is a walking golden egg not belonging to anyone and they are all seething to make them bend the knee.

Western music is very competitive af. There’s a reason why bundles and discounts existed way long before BTS made an appearance there. TS reducing her songs to 39 cents just to chart at number 1 on BB should give you a clue how much they want to do better than their peers.

i just know some american music label executives probably are fumming seeing all the money BTS generates and nothing goes into their pockets.
