I think BP is handing the baton over to Aespa as we speak.

I've waxed poetic many times about how the Age of BangTwicePinkExoVelvet is over, how 3rd Gen is now entering its twilight, the last ride into the sunset.

I dont think most people took me seriously lol, but maybe they will now. Aespa has defeated every group in Kpop this year, boy or girl, young or old.

Everyone was talking about Celebrity and Rollin and Butter earlier this year, but the true story of 2021 is the long awaited emergence of the 4th generation led by Aespa to claim their rightful place atop the Kpop hierarchy.

I think when BP cb next year they will prove again why they are at the top. Ww queens since debut! And it's not like they can be "replaced" when their ww records are intact...

Honestly speaking, there's nothing similar between the two groups except that one photoshoot where two members wore black and the other two wore pink, that was a bit off putting. So, nope they are not taking BP's place at all. Plus, SM GGs always had few members with SNSD being the only exception so the 4 members was a wack drag.

And no, one can NOT argue Aespa is #2. You have got to be serious delulu if you think so.

That being said, I also feel as though Aespa are slowly getting their way to that top tier position alongside BP and TWICE one could argue they're already number 2, I'm not saying that as of yet, but they can easily make an argument based on stats in 2021

IF Aespa was actually meant to target the Blink fandom, i think it was a job well done.

I wouldn't say they're 'taking their place' but aespa comebacks are becoming an event in Kpop

Anticipate bp next comeback when they will sell over 2 million and break more international achievements

If YG keeps messing with BP, delaying cbs and doing shitty things to their most popular member until she pulls a Bambam I can see BP being over without any other group influencing on it.

Agree, 3rd generation groups are still strong. Despite no promotions, some groups are still very successful. As long as YG give songs for Blackpink. They will probably sold 2-3mn album sales again.

I just think there are barely any girl groups really at the top anymore its pretty much only BP And Aespa that do well digitally. Oh MY girl also but comapred to gen 3 alot of girl groups were at the top for gen 4 at least at the moment there is not.

Gen 3 groups apart from BTS/BP are basically over digitally in Korea honestly and so far Gen 4 is only really Aespa.

Lack of competition allows Aespa to thrive girl group wise.
