Anime with energy swords that have 3 marbles in the hilt?

I might be wrong on this cause I saw the anime so long ago but I think there were swords in it that were powered on by putting three red or blue marbles in the hilt. The main character also had some sort of monster that would talk to him in his head. Again details might be wrong lol, saw it years ago. But if anyone has any ideas on what it could be id really appreciate it.
