2021 digital: Idol Groups ranked by Cumulative Digital Points (Week 37 Update)

Ggs: Itzy, Gidle, Stayc, Aespa and Loona

Bgs: Txt, skz, enhypen, ateez and nct(not sure if the last 2 are 3rd gen or fourth gen)

The thin line often looked over is the consensus that The Boyz is actually considered the start of 4th Gen, because despite technically debuting at the end of 2017, they actually didn’t start their first promotional period till the start of 2018, making them eligible for all the same awards as G-idle, Stray Kids, ect thus why they’re largely considered 4th Gen as well.

For ggs

Izone, itzy, aespa, gidle, loona, stayc, everglow, weeekly, purple kiss, dreamcatcher(if 2017 count)

Izone disbanded so don't see why they're in ranking , purple kiss weeekly loona everglow are all interchangeable tbh

Bg is more tricky groups like TXT, Enhypen and Stray Kids have good physicals but TXT and TBZ have good digitals for a boy group

The criteria is not only physical sales, plus Enhypen is about to come back and they had immence growth since their last release. If physicals are the most important, why not put them above TXT and SKZ?

How many of these groups’ wins are from The Show? I know skz and itzy have never gone on there and you have to appear to win. not sure about the others. Also tbh I don’t know if wins is the best metric for this. Aespa for example only has one and we all know they’re probably at least number 2 for the ggs

based on my observations bc I don't have enough time to check all data

(In no particular order)

Txt, skz, itzy, aespa, g Idle, tbz, enhypen, stayc and ateez

10th place is shared between dreamcatcher, treasure and loona.

Special mention because these two groups still have records for bgs on melon and ggs on physicals: X1 and izone

For ggs I think overall it's itzy on first place, based on numbers g-idle would be #2 but I feel like they already stagnated and aespa will eventually overtake them, then there is like a pretty big gap so idk

Bgs is a bit more competitive but the clear top 2 is txt/stray kids and I don't think it's clear which one is ahead since they sell similarly, skz have a lead on spotify/yt but they also debuted earlier, meanwhile txt seem to be stronger in korea/japan/us markets. After them there is also a bit of a gap, I guess enhypen 3rd

MCountdown also requires physical attendance to even be eligible. And The Show, no matter its reputation as "the nugu music show", is still hard to win at. A lot of 4th gen fandoms aim for there because they don't have good Korean digitals and/or a big fandom.
