Don't attack me for this it's just a thread and you can state your opinion, also I'm a SONE so don't even try it.
Do you think Blackpink will surpass SNSD's legacy one day?
-
-
Internationally, they will or they already have
Domestically, possibly
-
Internationally, they already have.
I don’t know if they can in Korea though.
-
omg please change your dp V
-
-
-
Internationally of course!
Domestically maybe but SNSD are still called the Nation's Girl Group.
-
what's wrong with it?!

they better not bash me

SNSD only really were on top for four years. So it's definitely possible.
i wouldn't say that
-
snsd were and still are legends
it'll be hard to surpass them in korea especially since so many nmembers are household names
i really hope bp does it tho
-
They will have a different kind of legacy, it's a bit pointless to compare them to me
-
In Korea, I doubt it. SNSD were everywhere. Variety shows, radio shows, etc, etc. This is what kept them in the public eye and part of the reason why they were so popular. Not to mention they had fun songs, were a visual group, had likeable personalities and that's what gave them their charm( a bit similar to BP in this sense).
Now, BP's have had some of their biggest hits(D4, HYLT, LSG) and YG does NOT push them everywhere, unlike SM with SNSD. It's pretty much a miracle how they're able to be this popular with the amount of promo they've received. I believe if YG really PUSHED them everywhere, they would come close but alas.
Not to mention it's two different eras, so it's a bit unfair to compare imo.
Internationally, it's not even close. But I believe they will both have different legacies for years to come. SNSD as Korea's National GG, and BP as the GG who helped spread Korean culture globally.
-
Like others have said international they already have but domestically I highly doubt it. SNSD aren't just a mega successful music group, they were part of Korean culture. You heard their music of course but even if you ignore that you constantly saw then on TV, you always saw their faces when going out shopping for anything from make up to high end tech, they regularly made it on national news for just a CB announcement, they were used by gov as representatives for Korea for tourism and hallyu and so on. They were pretty much a mini entertainment industry by themselves.
Even now when SNSD has been inactive for years members are still in high regard. Taeyeon in charts, Sunny and Hyoyeon on TV, the actress line, hosting awards shows and events and so on.

Nope SNSD paved the way
-
korea, maybe not for obvious reasons.
internationally, done so.
-
-
I want them to change concepts before. SNSD was able to change concept easily.
-
Internationally BP pretty much sits on their own league so no Kpop gg have ever gotten close to what BP have achieved
Korea wise SNSD was still refered to as 'Kpop representative gg' on a show a month ago, still etched as a top gg 13 years after debut and 3 years after their hiatus. They were put on a tourism promo ad for Korea and was mentioned alongside kimchi, Dae Jang Geum and Park Ji Sung, which is pretty telling how high they were regarded. They were plastered on an ad for Korea during the Olympic promotions.
I haven't seen BP achieved that same recognition in Korea. But to be fair no gen 3 gg have achieved that SNSD level of recognition. Will they achieve that someday? Maybe, Blackpink still has room to grow.

It's interesting how snsd used to be known internationally but now the question is if they can be surpassed in Korea. That'll be tough becuz they were the first Nations Girl Group and arguably the first kpop group to have a Visual member
-
Twice alrd did tat,too late.
-
I don't think we can see any gg in near future surpassing SNSD's legacy in Korea. But in a global scale, BP has created a legacy of their own which won't be really easy to surpass.

International, def a yes
Domestic? At the moment not yet BUT possibly in the future. Jennie already attained a status no member of SNSD reached. That soju endorsement is really telling. She reached the status of Suzy (atleast at the time when she first bagged the endorsement). No member of SNSD have done that. With Jisoo's upcomming lead role in a drama and Rosé's solo, this year could define their status in korea in the long run.
Didnt include Lisa's solo bec I have trust issues with YGE if they'll release it this year

Did you deduce that with your psychiatric knowledge?

this is me correcting you bc ur wrong
Did you deduce that with your psychiatric knowledge?
i'm crying

Internationally they already passed SNSD had quite a while ago, by miles.
Domestically is arguable. BP has surpassed many of SNSD's "strong points" or records, but there are still many areas where they are behind. -
Did you deduce that with your psychiatric knowledge?
How did you know sis? are my excellent and precise results that great for your small headed zero dimensional brain to take in
Looks like someone needs to log out of allkpop and pick up a book

Thanks for correcting me! Now this is me correcting you because basic grammar is clearly something you lack. You start sentences with a capital letter LOL, you're welcome

Unlikely in Korea. But in over all popularity and impact they are many many many times ahead of snsd and every other 2nd gen act.
