Yes. Even on akp is really easy to trigger people

Yes. Even on akp is really easy to trigger people
I would say "Annoy" instead of "Trigger"...
But yeah that too

Probably yes
I just had a stupid convo on Discord and the person was just ...
OK so I was chatting with someone about our pets and than this girl asked us about how the taste of these animals would be. I told her that she should stop saying this and than all of a sudden she felt like if I insultet her and she got so mad like ... I than told her if she could stop being pissed and rude but than she begun to yell "I just asked how (animal breed) taste" I told her that this is thr problem why I told her to not say such things cause its inapropriate and than she acted like if I was the one who insultet her wich is actually the oposite
You probably get what I mean
And the saddest of all is the people who got somehow triggered into a direction that they either had no idea whats even going on or they just thought me telling them what she said before would be "inapropriate" like what the heck is wrong with people
And such things no mather what it is about happen way to often nowadays. Of cause everyone reacts different to things, but especially in the time where like 80% of all humans can us a computer with wifi on it, the number of people who oeverreact after posting stupid bullshit is growing more and more. Some people even think it was normal and their own right to feel triggered. You see it everywhere from "OMG why is there a person whith pink hair and piercings sitting next to me in the bus" to "I won't let me child play with this kids anymore cause I read some stuff on Facebook" and thats even the problem why many people are still rascist and homophobic and even mean to handicapt people like "God why are you even in this store when you can't read the price on this object?"
On a video that I saw yesterday were such "triggered" and not understanding people like:
- Blind woman owns a black dog, another woman on the bus told her to get off of the bus cause "guard dogs can only be blond so if your dog isn't blond you seriously don't need a guard dog and therefore you can't go onto a bus with this dog"
- Woman with kid waits for the bus, her child cries "I can't stand no more" woman than yells at guy in wheelchair "Get off, I saw you walking earlier so you don't need the wheelchair. My son needs it more than you right now"
- Man is frustrated that people steal his packages from his lawn, so he installed bear-traps. In curt he said it was his own right to protect his property and belongings against thiefs and so he didn't understood the penalty he got for almost causing a guy to loose his leg
- Woman accidantly installed grinder instead of tinder and than rudly asked the company who made grinder to delet the app cause she was constantly only matched with lesbian women
- Woman refused to wear mask in store cause pants don't even prevent you from smelling farts
- Woman buys starter package for baby dolls online and feels scamed cause she thought she bought a started set for babys and not dolls and thinks 10 items for a real baby cost the same as for a doll so she wanted the company to replace a 12$ play-set for kids with a 10 item set for a real baby and she even said "No I didn't shoped on the website of a toystore" but she did
- Trans woman posts about her recovery from her last surgery to become a full woman. Entitled man wrotes "I never wanted to have a daughter so why do you disrespect our perfect family by just changing your gender. Do you hate us this mutch? Your mom is allready crying"
etc.
And such people get more and more and most of them really get their behavier from the internet. I mean ask entitled people who also have a divice that can conect to the internet and most people will say stuff like "I got that from Facebook" or "I found that in a forum for essential oils" etc.

Hmm... I don't know if that's an easy thing to measure, but I think every generation had stuff to be triggered about (Red scare, people fighting against racism, Beatlemania, lgbt+, religious conflicts, etc. Really, if you deep dive into any kind of history, I'm sure you'll find tons of people being "triggered" about something). It's just that since the newer generation is triggered about different, newer stuff that it can seem like they are triggered about everything sometimes.
I just think we've always been sensitive about stuff for better or worse. It does not have to be a bad thing to be conscientious, but there are points where it goes too far of course.
In my experience, I haven't seen trigger warnings in particular being misused, but I can acknowledge that they might be used more broadly. Still, trigger warnings themselves don't have to be a bad thing. A warning of sensitive content does not censor or stop people engaging with the sensitive content all together. So I don't think I mind them.

I think the real issue is that many people use "I'm offended" to silence people and opinions they disagree with, because clearly they should never ever have to feel that way.
Which is ridiculous.

i have a problem with trigger warnings, or at least the way they are being used these days.
a few days ago someone shared a tweet in my timeline about a lady that had 3rd degree burns while trying to sabe her 6 children from their burning house and the op of the tweet attached a [TW: burn scars] at the beginning. one of the replies asked something along the lines of : why did you add a TW? what are people who get triggered by this going to do if they meet someone with burn scars on the street? and that was a great point, really what are they going to do? faint? scream in their face and run away? tell them to stay indoors and never go out because their appearance is triggering?
around the same time i also watched a yt video about a ytber rape victim (you know the whole Gabbie Hanna beef with Jessi Smiles and her rapist), now the whole video was about the story of a rape victim and the shitty appologies and excuses of her rapist. you already get told this from the title so once you click play, isn't that you consenting to hear about rape? but then the whole video was full of censored words and BEEPS, everything from "rape", to "sexual harassment" to "arrested" (?????) and even "felony" were censored and beeped out and i genuinely couldn't rap my head around it? what was the purpose of this? people come into the video with the knowledge that a rape happened and that they are going to learn about it and details pertaining to it so how are they going to be triggered by mere words? they already know the action itself was done and they still understand the story from the context despite the censoring so what's the point exactly? this is highly performative and ridiculous.
these are just 2 cases that happened with me pretty much in the same day iirc so that's why i mentioned them in particular but this is becoming a huge problem in social media. we are going to reach a point where we can no longer communicate with each other because of how sensitive people have became to mere words.

Yes… tbh instead of us learning to deal with things, we just want to prevent everyone from seeing or hearing it. This makes people oversensitive and weak. We are now a generation full of cry-babies and snowflakes.
We don’t want to deal with problems, we just want to avoid them to not get triggered.
Putting a TW on almost everything makes it loose it’s initial propose.
Not so long ago I read a Reddit post about someone who survived a car accident, and several people under post asked the OP to put a TW ??? Like Why ?

this thread is triggering me daniel!!!

i always feel that people should go through some form of hardship in their lives...
once you've experienced hardships you build character and hopefully resilience...
you learn to empathize or at least feel sympathy for the people around you thus nothing much triggers you any more... well at least for me
-
apparently yes, its like walking on an eggshell every single time.

That's a really thoughtful answer. This is the best answer contender.

People stole the word from us people with actual disabilities like PTSD and epilepsy and use it to describe any minor annoyance
That's so not right!!!!

I was jumped 4 times in total due to me not providing a TW on a vide where a guy hits another guy with a glass bottle....
