I want to know the metrics used. I hope they have used streams from saavn and gaana too. And sales.

Not Sony Music. It is supported by IFPI and the chart is run by an independent body. The chart has support of all the labels. I am guessing they include streams from Spotify and other platforms etc to calculate the chart positions.

Spotify India does not have as wide a user base as Gaana or Saavn btw.

Yeah spotify is definitely included as majority of Indian armys and kpop fans, in general, prefer spotify over other Indian platforms cause kpop isn't available in most of them

Yeah but Gaana and Saavn don't really have much kpop to offer, but those who listen to local music love it..

spotify has definitely been a saviour for Indian fans in terms of providing a variety in music

exactly, the lack of inclusivity these platforms have is concerning....

just Bollywood and Punjabi music mostly, a whole lot of popular English songs thrown in with a very few other songs in any other language, not even other Indian languages

Based on my personal experience with South Indians it is YT followed by jio music for some users and Spotify.

Gaana for Indian music. Spotify for Foreign music. I only use YouTube if I wanna watch the MV.

Tbh I also see for international acts spotify and Amazon are much more used. But they should not leave out yt atleast. The data is easy to collect

They mentioned video streams but they didn’t mention YT, are music videos available in Apple Music and Amazon?

Charts in India can never work because they're usually so skewed towards Hindi/Punjabi/English music.
