This is another great and thoughtful post. I've offered my play on play on DFTF tracks twice on threads, so I don't think anyone wants it again. But this is a really tough one for me, honestly. I know that I prefer a specific musical style and so my likes are always shaded by that.

Bambi, to me, is the best album of the year and nothing I've heard has surpassed it. I don't question this ranking at all. I appreciate the artistry and vocals, as well as the specific musical references he is utilizing through the album and the way he is painting a mood and soundscape. This is like my dream album from this artist (at least until Kyungsoo arrives!)

I love DFTF and I think it's a great album, but I can also immediately think of several excellent albums that have come out this year that are I think at the same level of quality so I might shift it to "one of the best releases so far this year."

Reviving this because why not
