Lightsum 1st week debut sales already surpassed CLC best selling album. Why??

    Why and how did this happen? Both come from cube and had a forgettable debut, Lightsum isn't killing digital charts or trending in Korea yet but they have already outsold CLC's best seller ever.


    And isn't like CLC had zero promo during debut, they were everywhere and anticipated as 4minute juniors + Sorn is thailandese and thai fans support Bambam and Lisa a lot + Eunbin produce hype. This puts them at the same position as lightsum (produce members, known seniors, foreign members) yet the results are very different.

    Eunbi wasn't as popular than chowon during debut

    without mentionning that Lightsum have 4 very popular member predebut coming from survival show, Yuhyeon got recognition on The Unit, Chowon , yujeong and Nayoung are all from Produce


    meanwhile CLC didn't have the hybe of having so much popular member predebut, considering that Eunbi was added after their debut with no reason

    and same for Elkie they were both added out of nowhere to CLC without much explanation

    Doesn't explain lightsum already selling more since CLC has more global "hype". I don't think stan twt even knows lightsum debuted, while "CLC deserves better" is always being talked about.

    And CLC promoted a lot last year, Yeeun especially trended a lot, yet the cb didn't sell as well as one would expect in 2020, the year physical sales exploded.

    There's just something playing against them, kinda like weki meki...

    I think some members were already popular and had some form of fanbase more than clc ones. Also more star power. Lightsum members r way more captivating than clc's.

    Honestly I always thought the lack of star power was a huge reason for clc never taking off. They have a good discography so quality isn't a problem.

    The physical sales market exploded in 2020.


    And tbh, this group should've debuted way sooner. I feel like a lot of Chowon's hype died down. Their physical sales should've been bigger.

    Did they sell more than G-idle?


    Unfortunately CLC was not liked by the public, it svcks, but it is what it is.

    Growth of K-pop internationally.


    Plus CUBE gave up on CLC, it was obvious. That ridiculous 1 year hiatus from Devil to Helicopter was the nail in the coffin, even after a 2019 that saw them actually gain back attention since going radio silent after Black Dress.
