I see it as "Oh, your opinion is wow #sarcasm"

It’s often implied as being rude or sarcastic like the person can’t be bothered to give a reply. It doesn’t say much for them imo and I think whatever.

I use it if I don't like or dislike your opinion. Imo it is just neutral way to react on comment.

It can be shady I suppose by alot of people hence I dont use it when I actually should cause I read it neutrally as 'read' and it would be something I'd use regularly cause I'm Often just read comments and not bothering to reply.. But people interpret things differently so I avoid the hassle and just not react with it.

There should not be shady reactions. We had clown before, but because it was shady, it got removed. If read is shady, it should be removed as well.

I have tried to understand it by context with all my survival and attempts-to-fit-in-with-the-internet-society skills but I still don't get it.

I understand that it's negative tho. Is it implying that the post is shady hence an emoji of "shades"?

i used to use it as like "period" or like "preach!!" lol kinda like a mic drop but then people started getting offended or were like "why the shades? why are you throwing shade?" and i was like OOPS

so now i use it as like be fr or side eye

I remember someone tagged me and asked me "why did you give me the Read reaction" back in 2022 in the deleted Ask a Staff Member thread. Horizonshard, a staff member at the time, said, "who uses the Read reaction?", meaning maybe he wanted the Read reaction deleted due to its low usage or something.
