NCT Dream’s broadcast accident on Music Bank, revealing that the entire stage is lip-synced

  • Well SM was downgraded to a small company y’all need to buy them boys a mic.

But you know what’s so funny about this whole thing is NCT especially Renjun can sing so this lip scandal doesn’t really bug me lmao.

The real tea is groups even with a mic in their hand can’t hold a note.

  • it's so hard to find a proper live performances nowadays (at least in pop music), if they don't lipsync they use back up tracks or even if they sing live they still use a lot of pitch correction, autotune and other vocal processings on their live vocals (like in the case of immortal songs or concert DVDs)

I like watching concert fancams since even if they use a back up track, usually you can easily hear their actual voices over it (obviously this is out of the question because of Covid), or maybe on Mcountdown's encore stages where they don't use the back track (although you can argue that these encore stages are just for fun and not for serious singing)

Anyways I just wanted to vent my frustration and not an attack towards anybody (since this also counts towards my faves too obviously) also the thing that a lot of people seem to forget that is if someone lipsyncs that doesn't mean they can't sing

Anyways I don't understand the hate towards NCT dream since majority of music show performances are lipsynced anyways, they are not the only one so why them and why now? :/

  • LMAOOO people saying that renjun doesn't know how to sing when this little guy sing like this live x)))

people can't stop embarassing themselves x))

Just me who thinks that the most hillarious part isn't that he forgot the mic but that people are saying Renjun can't sing.

I can't take seriously people who said with their chest that Renjun can't sing :pepe-cringe:

  • No hate, but I think lipsync is really unnecessary. I know it's what most Korean music shows do these days especially for the first weeks of the promotion. I just hate how idols pretend to sing, whether in music shows, performance video, or even dance practice videos. I know they are focusing to make the performance/dancing looks perfect but with lipsync it feels emotionless. We all know these idols can sing, so I would rather see imperfect performance but really live than lipsync.

You may prefer imperfections, but many of them are horribly and maliciously attacked online when it happens. Back when Super Junior debuted, they were singing live on a music show and Heechul's voice cracked. He was maliciously mocked for it and he's talked about how it made him afraid to sing anywhere.

This is why I prefer JPop when it comes to live performance. Yes they maybe not as good as Kpop idols but fans know their ability and can accept imperfections.

But it take a lot of energy to do both and eventually straining their voices and getting injuries.

So I feel there should be two performances:-

    1) only performance based.

    2) just singing live and raw without any choreography.

  • Anyways I don't understand the hate towards NCT dream :/

NCT as a whole has been a convenient punching bag for years and Dream's comeback was too successful for many people's liking.

  • What I don't get is Music Bank is supposedly the most authentic (for lack of a better word) of the music shows and reportedly allows the least amount of lip syncing. If that's so, why didn't they re-record the stage with Renjun mic'ed up and use the new video? I mean their reputation as the less-lip-syncing music show is on the line... Are the budget constraints getting tight? If Music Bank is going to act like they're the "better" of the the music shows, shouldn't they live up to their standards? Or maybe no one gives a flying fuck because they still get paid at the end of the day?

  • I hope this gives a kick in SM's butt like whats the purpose of training and ensuring your trainee can sing when an embarassing case like this happen

How absurd it is to make lipsyncing a standard, SM and other agencies who tolerate this should be humiliated. I know their idols can sing, let them sing

  • Some of you can't even talk while walking because you get tired and expect idols to perform such complicated choreographies and sing high notes lol.

You act so shocked like it's not more than obvious that both your faves and my faves are lip-synching. If you don't hear nor their breath or hits in the mic then they are lip-synching, even on You Heeyeol’s Sketchbook. It's also a matter of payment because music shows pay so badly that they don't sing live. If you check their concerts or award shows, usually they sing live because the payment is bigger.

    I also don't like lip-synching but it's not such a tragedy.
