Display MoreI'm not sure we can compare Rose and Lisa in terms of popularity.
People were anticipating Rose's solo for so long that it became an event and quite emotionally loaded for a lot of Blinks. Plus she's a main vocalist and she's Korean. No complications there. She was never going to fail to do well.
Lisa's solo has kind of come out of nowhere, (even now there's no hint about when it might come) meaning her rich fansites had put all their money into Blackpink's projects instead. Also there is ambivalence about her popularity both in Korea and also in the international fandom, so I wouldn't be surprised if the support is not what YG expects. Not a loud boycott this time, but maybe a passive one.
However if the material is good she stands more chance of connecting with the GP and then it doesn't really matter too much what the K-Popverse is doing.
interesting points you made.
this is off topic but I'm curious what do you think will happen with Jisoo's solo? I don't think YG will put that much effort but Jisoo always comes successful no matter the adversity.
it's obvious it's gonna be next year but do you think Jisoo's chinese bars are going all out do you think she can sell more than 500K copies? Jisoo also has some rich international fans (she is also popular in East Asian countries) and I'm assuming that by then she will be more popular because of snowdrop.
what are your thoughts?
