Just finished watching this drama and I completely LOVED it! I love the lead actors and their couple, they have a lot of chemistry, I really love them I also love that there's a lot of things happening in the story, like criminal case etc. and I liked learning and seeing all the japanese traditional sweets. it's exciting until the end! I totally recommend this drama! I'll give more opinions under spoiler (please put opinions under spoiler if it has spoilers about the story!)

i'll post some more thoughts later but for now,

i loved seeing the art and story behind the sweets and then how they tie it into the actual plot is so satisfying.

from getting approval through family tradition and then through innovation at the customers, the subplots and the criminal part of of the main storyline..

you feel so bad for Nao/Sakura!! i was really invested in seeing her "win" and then when she turns all rogue and "evil-gonna-take-over-kougetsu ahn" ahhhhh i really am glad for the endings of each character arc, even the horrifying mil..man what an evil character!

i also thought that it was great how they tried to add another facet to the mil by showing how she was in a loveless marriage and had tsubaki like some kind of awful revenge.

making her into a focused evil character was slightly annoying and i think they did her a disservice since her acting had to be so forced and over the top. when we get to see her at the end, with her hair down, i think the nuances of her subtle expressions were able to shine. i would really like to see her in a better role in a movie or a kdrama style series...i would join that kickstarter or patreon for sure, lol. she's a beautiful actress.

i do think making tsubaki's dad into a less likeable character to throw us off was a good twist but at the same time, i wish there had been more added to the grandfather's story. him and the mil as evil people were good directing and production decisions but the whole series could have been made so much more impactful and poignant with the grandfather maybe having a old timey arc. maybe they can make a prequel..../wishful thinking

ok so Nao and Tsubaki...phew!!! they simmer and burn with passion in their expressions holy crap!

their first kiss, the whole push and pull of their emotions...the ahem...lovemaking and the sadness with the [bad] events..they really chose the actors well. the casting needs some credit! the side characters usually are overshadowed completely but i think they each had important enough parts that their screen time was also satisfying and not pointless to the closure and not a needless distraction to the main plot.

i really liked this series overall and going into the idea, it might not necessarily be my absolute favorite, but this hits top 10 JDrama for me.

Actually I just watched the first eps of her comedy dorama, still ongoing.

Yes it's Hamabe Minami! You should definitely watch Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru, the drama is awesome and Minami looks so beautiful in her role. I heard about her new drama too and I'm planning to watch it (not right now but soon) I also want to see her other dramas from the past!
