They didn't tank. They sold 1.46+ million mini-albums on their first day, setting a new all time record for girl groups! Their streaming numbers are lower than expected but that's because there wasn't any traditional promotions at all (the girls are literally in 4 different countries right now) and GO was missing from some of the major playlists which I don't understand why. All in all they did really well!!

They should have made Go 50/50 or more Korean lyrics than English. I’m assuming YG had a choice in the matter as they’re still BP company

It’s not just them a lot of kpop songs have been using more English lyrics than Korean! Not entirety sure what’s causing Kpop companies to prefer this but earlier Kpop songs had way more Korean and limited English lyrics compared to modern kpop

You're right on the trend, but I don't understand why it's a bad move?

there is nothing left to fumble

Imo the more a song has english lyrics the less likely it is to do well in Korea! I mean Korean is the primary language and not everyone speaks or understands English in Korea so wouldn’t willingly listen to it
unless a group’s primary focus is strictly the west or global, kpop songs should always have predominately Korean lyrics
Of course there are exceptions but those are the minority and smash hits/global hits like All I want for Christmas
